Which QB Do You Draft?

Rising draft stock after the Combine:

Dontari Poe.

Dude pushed 225 44 times, ran a 4.86 40yd dash, and OBTW he’s 6’5 and 350lbs.

All the sudden lots of people are talking this guy up like he’s the next big thing.

What do you guys think… Workout Warrior? I think there’s tougher DT’s on the board, namely Jerrel Worthy from Michigan State, that dude is pure mean, a standout on a defense that trended more mean than about any other in the Big 10 if not the Nation.

Where does he fit 3-4 or 4-3?

For a nose he is to tall for a 3 tech he is a little to heavy, but he is explosive for sure. I know coaches think that if he has this kind of power and speed we can coach him up. Again there is always a premium on DL and this year is deep in DL.

I say he has to go to a 4-3 team play Dtackle either top of 2nd or bottom of 1st.

A couple Mocks have him going as high as 21st to Cinci. I think he came from a 4-3 set up out of Memphis.

We’ll see. I wish the best for these guys and they the get drafted as highly as possible, but I’m paying attention to this Poe kid because he had a great combine but just doesn’t feel right that he’s in the top DT’s. I guess if McShay and Kyper start blowing him up bigtime I’ll fully believe that this whole process is questionable for real.

If he’s still there when the Steelers pick it’s game over, he’ll take over Hamptons NT spot, bank on it.

What if Jerrel Worthy is still on the board? Who would you chose Poe or him?

In my mind, as a GM looking for a D-lineman around that round Worthy would be my guy. Admittedly because I saw him play no less than 5 times the previous season in the Big 10 and he was a pure white hot motherfucker when it came to run and pass defense. This Poe cat can move his big frame with the quickness and he’s strong as fuck…

But is he nasty?

Sixburg demands nasty from their D-lineman, that’s what I don’t know about Poe, and that’s what would make me take someone else.

^ That was what they were talking about during the combine.

I’m not sure what a running quarter back is, but I don’t think the guy sacked more than anyone else in NFL history belongs in that catagory. Running for your life because your offensive line is a piece of shit isn’t the same as rushing for yardage.

Running QB= A QB that will go through 1 maybe 2 progression reads for his WR/TE and Defense then tuck the ball and run. Also in a system that utilizes him as a running back aka “Wildcat”, or option type play. Peyton or Brady will never run down the line and either tuck the ball and run or pitch to a RB on a sweep.

Scrambling QB= A QB that due to pressure and/or inefficient OL will move around in the pocket or scramble to the flats to look down field to find an open target. He MAY tuck it to run, but this is the absolute last option that he takes, and most will just throw it out of bounds.

He’s a clone of Casey Hampton, they’ll take him. Hanging around JH might help his disposition, might have to pay a fine or three

When it comes to nasty players, ILB is also a need for Pittsburgh.

You just described Mike Vick and Big Ben. Although Ben seems to be more of a pull a rabbit out his ass kind of scrambler. Bens too dumb to throw out of bounds I should add.

We should also mention Rogers, that dude can run like a deer even though he’s throws for 4000 yards.
