Whey Protein Amount

Since whey protein contains the highest amount of leucine compared to other protein sources and since roughly 25-30 grams of protein from whey contains enough leucine to maximize protein synthesis is there any benefit to consuming an amount above that?

The golden rule is roughly 1g/lb of body weight but that doesn’t take into account the quality of the protein source. Is there any point in consuming an amount of whey above that 25-30 gram mark at one time as far as muscle growth is concerned?

if you are getting enough calories and enough protein for the day and enough carbs with that meal to maximize insulin response then no, there is no additional benefit

That’s what I have been thinking yet every time I use a whey source I go into auto pilot and put two scoops in. It’s that more is always better mentality. Too bad my wallet doesn’t feel that way as well.
