AD??? I was referring to Adrian Peterson?

Yeah. His nickname is AD - short for All Day. His father gave it to him when he was a little boy because he never stopped moving.

+1 high fives for you for quality NFL knowledge!

Actually, it’s Oklahoma alum knowledge.

Are you a Sooner? I’m going to have to add you to my known Big 12 rivals on this board and tilt my posts appropriately.

Down to the tattoo on my ass.

After he finishes his football career, of course.

Beat me to it. I think ultimately he will end up in hell.

I don’t think he is a bad person. Really. Just a product of society that shows little value to the lives of the animals that cohabit it.

I bet he is probably a decent guy in real life that made some dumb mistakes. Were all human. As far as I know, he has never committed any serious crimes outside of the dog fighting incidents.

I wish him well.

He’s a felon right?

Cincinnati.

Zing!

His dumb ass better behave on home confinement, or he will go back into prison. Let’s see how he adjusts to the normal world first, before the talk of the NFL.

If he does get a chance with some team, you can bet he will sign a short term contract, because he is such a liability right now. Look at Pac Man Jones, he fucked up again and the Cowboys let him go. I swear some people never learn.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Raiders…

Lord knows we have had enough of him during his stay in KS (Leavenworth)

Hasn’t judgment by the league (possible suspension/ban) been deferred until out of prison? Couldn’t he still be suspended for some time?

he’ll never get back to where he was. the guy couldn’t throw anyway, and 2 years away from the game will make it unlikely he’ll ever be an effective quarterback.

I’m more interested in the $100 million Washington just gave Haynesworth.

I see him going to the following teams, in no particular order:

  1. Vikings (Tavaris Jackson is basically a crappy clone of Vick in his prime; might as well get the real thing)

  2. Dolphins (Pennington’s not going to last long)

  3. Jets

  4. Bucs (this team is basically rebuilding and I can see them trying to build around Vick)

  5. Rams (Bulger is getting towards the end of his self life; Vick would be sick on turf again)

  6. Bears

  7. Redskins (Snyder has a thing for washed up, big name players and Campbell is may not be answer)

  8. 49ers

  9. Lions (he could make a sick trio with Calvin Johnson and a sweet running back from the draft)

I think the Vikings are the most likely destination, as I think he would fit in best there. Dolphins are the next most likely, IMO, with perhaps Tampa close behind. Vick would look sick in the Tampa uni.

I doubt he’ll go to the Cowboys since they are committed to Romo.

Also, for those that say he’ll suck, I question this. A guy like Vick is special and doesn’t depend on weight training or whatever for his speed and agility. It is just natural. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t lost a step after a few weeks back in action.

Also, I think almost everyone deserves a second chance. What if he comes out of prison a reformed individual who gives freely to charity and is a model player? I would cheer for him again. The best thing he could do would be to give a shit ton of money to an animal rights group or something similar as a token of his reformed opinion of animals. I hope that he has been made into a better man through this experience, but who knows.

He’ll land somewhere, but he was a shitty NFL QB before getting locked up for 2 years, what makes anyone think he’ll be worth anything at that position now?

I guess Minn would make the most sense, if they run a veer with Peterson and Taylor, but that’ll only work for a few weeks, like the “wildcat” offense last year.

Sounds like you’ve watched the media and not his games. He was no Joe Montana but he wasn’t a shitty QB. I watched every game he played in Atlanta, his problem was lack of time in the pocket and drops.

‘Ha’ pretty much sums up our entire athletic program, save wrestling, but yeah, that’s me!

He was good at running that draw/option play, but that’s about it. He has great legs and a cannon for an arm, but shitty touch/accuracy and zero pocket presence.

Don’t you have to have a pocket before you can have presence?

too many times he would look to escape instead of stepping up into the pocket. 3-4 seconds is about all you’re going to get in the NFL. anything over that is great protection, which ATL never had, due to their concentration on the running game

Does anyone know what is remaining on Vick’s contract?

3-4 seconds would have been a luxury, too many times I’ve seen him not get into a 5 step drop before someone was in his face.
So you know, I’m not a crazy Vick fan, I’m more than happy for him to be gone and replaced with Matt Ryan, however I think to many folks watch ESPN and think they know everything about the guy, he’s a much better passer than some give him credit.

I’ve only seen him play live twice, both at Charlotte, but I’ve watched many an ATL game with him at the helm. As a Panther fan, I hated seeing Ryan go to ATL, as he is 10x the QB Vick was, or ever will be.

I’m wondering what’s left on his contract that someone is going to have to pay him, unless ATL cuts his ass. that’s what’s going to limit the number of teams willing to take a risk on an average QB with 2 yrs, not only out of the game, but behind bars…

As a panthers fan you should know how many times Peppers was on him before he had time to set up.

As far as his contract, I’ve read a bunch of different things about what is suspected to be his contract. I’ve read that he’s signed until 2013 and if the Falcons cut him they take a 15 million dollar cap hit, I’ve also read if they cut him after June 1st it’s much less, not sure if anyone outside the NFL knows what the real deal is.

The thinking is they’ll shop him around for a player or a pick but the NFL has to let him back in first which I wouldn’t think will be a problem, they let Pacman back in and he kept FN up, I think post inmate Vick is going to be an NFL angel if not he can fuck off and die.
