Where Do BIG GUYS Buy Their Clothes?

I’m going to quote myself here, misspellings and all.

I almost wrote point (A) to be: Professor X is going to tell you that you don’t have a problem, you aren’t that big and you should just quit deluding yourself.

Anyway, since the year is early, perhaps we should have a bet about how many times this thread will be posted in 2012.

also, i will have to admit, height does make some difference. one of my buddies at work is 6’3, 310lbs. we actually have the same size arms (about 18.5 inches) but as I can wear large scrub tops, he has to wear xxl or xxxl. not sure why, but that is a fact.

I have no doubt that some guys have trouble finding clothes that fit properly.

I would think that 6’3 and 310lbs would do it.

But they aren’t the ones who start these threads.

And he just might know how to use a search function. I lurked for a long time before I started posting.

I don’t always. Depends.

I do admit I do NOT like a tight fit - that bound-up feeling - in the shoulders and will opt for a looser fit. But shitarooski, man, I don’t hardly ever wear dress shirts anyway.

I DO have to wear XXL in coveralls, overalls, coats, etc. I can’t wear a L in anything unless I’m looking for the painted-on look and I don’t do that.

I was 225 a few weeks ago, down to 218 - 220 now so you’re not much heavier than me.
k, fair enough.

Dude, find your own style. Good luck with that.
I stopped reading after watching the vid.

Motherfucker, if I ever see you donning another Superman tee again, I will find you at your place of work, and we will then engage in the Man Dance! lol.

I typically wear gauntlets/bracelets (leather), too.

And fuck H/M. Made for the smaller man-boys, in my opinion.

sigh, cant believe these threads are still popping up, right along with the “help, my penis is too big for my girlfriend” in the SAMA forum.

to the OP, I really do not mean to offend, but at my biggest, I was 5’6" and 270 plus lbs. had a 40 inch waist, 60 inch chest, 22 inch neck, 20 inch arms, and 30 inch thighs. I could find regular clothes that fit.

jackets for suits was a different animal, I did have lots of trouble with that, but as far as jeans and everyday shirts, no problem

a guy I trained with at diablo barbell, he was 5’9" and 330lbs, and NOT fat. he had a legitimate 500lb raw bench and 800lbs squat(700lb raw squat) he could find cloths that fit.

I trained a little bit with Peteur Gudmanson, 6’6" 330lbs, Iceland shot put record holder and Olympian, 70 foot plus shot putter, he could find clothes that fit.

even now, I am like 225-230lbs, 48 inch chest, 18.5 inch arms, 34 inch waist, and I can find stuff to fit despite being a midget.

BTW, pushharder, I am heavier than you and shorter than you, and wear xl or just regular large shirts, not sure why you require xxl shirts.

here is a recent pic, just so you do not think I am some short fat choad talking out of my ass:

[photo]31636[/photo]

edit:

btw, to the OP, you do look like a BIG dude, and definitly more jacked than my old broken down ass, so no disrespect intended, but I still think you are exaggerating your difficulty in finding clothes that fit.
I completely understand where you’re coming from and no offense taken. You’re a beastly dude now, would have wanted to see you at your biggest.

To clarify a bit, yes i can walk into a store and find clothes that are big enough, but it’s difficult for me to find clothes that are big enough but also fit nicely with my physique, know what i mean? like clothes that fit and LOOK NICE, not just something big enough to cover me up.

I think the OP/“younger” guys version of clothes that “fit” is different than older guys.

I believe the OP (and others) are talking about finding clothes off the rack that look more like tailored clothes.
More or less, yes. This is what i am getting at.

Obviously i can walk into a store and throw a XXL shirt on and it’ll do the job, but that doesnt mean it fits me well.

I can agree with that…which is why the advice about Men’s warehouse is good. I already mentioned the other website. I look good in some of those shirts and they fit like they were “tailored” because of the material.

Other than that, if we are just talking off the rack t-shirts, most of these guys are talking out of their ass.
This is basically the conclusion i’ve come to based on the responses in this thread, if i want something to fit nice, its gonna have to be adjusted. I was hoping that somebody would be able to point me in the direction of some apparel line that just happens to be awesome for muscular builds but with the way the average guys are built nowadays, there’s probably no money in that.

And for all the people complaining about seeing “this same old thread” again, in the 2 and a half years since i joined i honestly cant ever remember seeing a thread like this. I suppose i could’ve used search but like i said, i never saw one.

There just isn’t a market for it as you correctly point out. It would be great to have casual wear (t shirt, polo, jeans etc) that fits nicely and doesn’t make it look like a tent or tight sleeves whatever. I don’t think such a brand exists and also sizes really change around the world (different regions, different sizes) so S-XXXL is all relative. For business wear tailoring is definitely your best bet. Depending on your line of work buy one, some or many shirts, a suit with two pairs of trousers and that’s a pretty good start.

Just slap yourself.

Heavy, I didn’t know you were that short. And I gather you are in the medical field. What exactly do you do?

Sorry to hijack, Audio.

I think that maybe the OP and some of us that are a bit older have a different fashion sense.

I think he wants his clothes to be tight all over, so if your waist is considerably (I use the word cautiously)smaller than your chest and you want it to be tight all over you’re out of luck.

Many of us that are over 25, even if our waists are not completely overflowing (I wear 36 and they are shall we say , snug) just don’t want to walk around looking like a d_____. Sorry.

Wasn’t exactly sure where to put this response. Anyway, where do you big guys (i’m talking well above average) buy your underwear? Because of my size, it’s always been difficult for me to find underwear that fit well and look good, but at my current size of 10" X 7" it is damn near impossible to find underwear i like that give me support.

I have to wear boxers in order for it to fit, however these are long as fuck and baggy as hell in the waist.

So can some BIG GUYS give me examples of where they shop? underwear shopping is such an infuriating experience over the last couple years and im ready to just wear a stippers banana thong 24/7 (not really)

If you are less than 9", please dont respond.

If you can’t touch her cervix and have inches in the cold, please dont respond.

Isn’t your post kinda like this ^^^^^^^^

Dude simple fucking answer, commando.

Been going commando whether summer or winter for 2 years now and never looking back.

LOL @ Affliction t-shirts. Didn’t know that was still “in”.

I’m the last guy to give fashion tips, but I did find a few good fitting t-shirts at Hotbodz website and if you look real hard, you may find a polo or something that does not look like a douche in a club would wear it.

Other than that, if you plan on having a chest over 50" and a waist under 40 you might as well accept that you will have to pay more to look right.

That is why you rarely see guys that big in dress clothes to begin with.

You can bet every suit you saw Ronnie Coleman in cost a good chunk of that posing money.

I mean, you may have some size on you but you by no means look freakish enough to be having that hard a time with shirts.

I also think some people in this thread are being a tad lenient with their waist measurements.
I have a 50 inch chest and a 35 inch waist currently. not freakish, but still a damn pain in the ass finding anything that tapers like that.

Edit: Actually just remeasured cause i havent in a while, chest is 51.5 inches at the nipples

As far as waist goes, the pants i wear are 36x34, and i use a belt to snug em up just a tad which is where im getting the 35 from
Dude, How the hell are you fitting into 36 inch pants? Those things must fit like skinny jeans on you lol. I have to buy 38/40 inchers just to get some space for the legs. If I don’t leave my shirt hanging out over my pants I look like a well dressed homeless man.

Yep yep. Another reason I don’t believe some of these numbers. My waist is small enough right now to claim a pant size like that, but I can’t even pull a pair of 36" jeans up far enough to reach my waist so I am amazed at anyone claiming a chest over 51" but can actually slip on a pair of 36" jeans.

I have to wear a size 42 just so they fit over my legs and ass.

I think some tape measures are broken or people aren’t as swole as they think they are.

Lands End has some nice polls, Puerivian cotton I think, that are trim cut with enough stretch that they will fit snug but not tight across the shoulders and not balloon much if at all at the waist.
