I am thinking of getting BCAA but i dont know when to take them or how to take them with my glutamine and protein.
I use powder.
5-7 grams in my pre-workout w/15 grams of simple carb, 4 grams of creatine-mono and 25 grams whey and 5-7 grams post workout with 80-100 grams simple carb, 4 grams of creatine-mono and 40-50 grams whey.
Right now I’m following Berardi’s protocol:
Training Days: 5 grams upon waking, 5 grams during training, 5 grams after training
Off-Days: 5 grams 2-3 times spread evenly through the day.
I feel BCAAs are more beneficial for fasted weight training…or if you have a pre workout meal…then perhaps 10gs intra-workout…
If you eat enough protein, you dont need BCAA’s. Waste of money IMO
However, if you do fasted training then they become very useful. Taking 10grams before training

This hurts my eyes to read, but i’m going to agree with you to see what other outrageous things you believe. If you go on that protein-kidneys rant, i’ll die of laughter.

I supose money spent on BCAA powder can’t be spent elsewhere, but by mail order the cost is below .20 per serving. Reasonable IMO…
