When I am not at work I basically wear workout clothes because they’re comfortable. T-shirts. Sometimes jeans. Whatever my daughter hasn’t wiped too much snot on lately. Who f&*kin cares.
I guess when you have a real career and a family, what “threads you be wearin when you just chillin” don’t matter as much anymore because you realize there are more important things in life.

Right with you man. I gave up giving a shit about being “stylish” and up to date on clothing trends years ago. Funny how as you age, what kicks you wear and what brand of shirts you have really don’t much of anything in the grand scheme of life and parenthood.

One more vote for this being a “super-ghey” thread.
Let’s see, on a daily basis I go to WORK so I wear work clothes, namely a shirt, tie, dress pants, and dress shoes since I am a physician. Sometimes scrubs if I’m on call.

It’s threads like this that make me think that maybe I’ve outgrown T-Nation (I was there in 1998 for issue 1…I was 20 years old and apparently most of you were in elementary school)…but then I read an Eric Cressey article and it’s OK to be here again.
I responded to the thread just to let people know that there are people on this site besides 19-year-old wannabe gangstas who “be tryin’ ta get hyooge yo.”

Having a family has nothing to do with it, but I am with you on the rest of what you wrote. I personally have no interest in spending significant amounts of money on clothing for the sole purpose of looking trendy. Most of the shit I wear is either chosen because I can wear it to the gym or because I can sweat in it and stay dry (Under Armour loose gear is in half of my closet). I’m in scrubs all day as well when in the clinic or in a uniform if I have to go anywhere else (which is rare). What I do outside of work is usually stacked around hitting the gym later.
Any women who would judge me simply by what I wear aren’t worth my time anyway. Most around this area (aside from Spring Breakers) are ghetto rats to begin with.
If you put more thought into what you are going to wear than into what you plan on doing with your life, your priorities are ass backwards.

Oddly enough that didn’t stop you from typing out the longest post on this thread
I try to dress like the boss. It is a subtle career enhancer
Dockers with big pleats and elastic waist
Knit belt
Short sleeve button down shirt, very wotn at the elbows
Brown pullon shoes
Short sock so everyone can see my toned calves when I sit with my legs crossed
Keep a short fat tie in the drawer for the important meetings
Huge bulging wallet in back pocket
As far as dress shoes go I like Steve Madden,Robert Wayne,Aldo,Cole Haan.Jeans:Sevens, express men’s.Shirts:Wish, johnny max,Qr. I like to have nice clothes when I feel like comin’ down, but I could rock an Allen Solley white-t, Sevens and born sandals daily.

ok let me school you on the whole street wear and urban scene. it is getting played out…underground companies are no longer underground lrg is in stores and 10 deep is going department store as well. all over print hoodies and tees is played that shit was wack to begin with.
WTF are you talking about? Hows it getting played out when it just sprung up? LRG,yeah, thats been out for awhile and its been wack since day one but 10 Deep JUST came into the department store, its still pretty fresh.
yea but stupid shit like this makes it not underground anymore. people who are into this shit run around telling every1 im wearing 10 deep, levis 501, and forces isnt that fucking exlusive then everyones doing it.
I don’t care if I look cool, and I’d rather put money in my 401k than look trendy.
I work for myself from home (most days), so I wear whatever. Other than that, it’s blue jeans, t-shirts or Polo shirts, and some Adidas kicks. I never had trouble meeting girls even though I didn’t wear “fresh” gear. Many slutty girls go for that trendy look, though, so I do understand why some guys put together their outfits.
If I were young and in search of a slut, I’d wear whatever was cool. If I were looking for a quality girl (girls who won’t date you unless you dress “cool” are trash; you will regret the day you marry one of those!), I’d wear clothes I felt comfortable in.
When I wear a suit, it’s Brooks Brothers. And I never wear button-down collars when wearing a suit.

i think some of you put way too much time and money into fashion. Looking like a dirt bag all the time isnt that great either.
There is nothing wrong with having some sense of style though, i mean at least match your belt to your shoes when you go out.
And r0ck DEM fresh azzzz jorDans DAWG!!
Not buying your pants and shirts at Hollister doesn’t mean you don’t bathe. I don’t leave the house looking dirty. I also could care less about wearing 50 dollar jeans.
Levi’s carpenter jeans, Nike sneakers & Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) shirts make up 90% of my clothes.
Durability and a good fit are what i care for. EMS shirts fit perfect and last forever (the fabric never seems to fade and NEVER stretches like regular shirts).
They cost 3x more but last 10 times longer without looking old.
