What's Your Favorite Training Book?

I have read and re-read Arthur Jones’ Nautilus Bulletin 1 probably once a year for 45 years to remind me of the basic principles. He got SO much right the very 1st time. The entire Personal training/Fitness Coaching/Strength Coaching industry owes Arthur a debt of gratitude.
I own and recommend “The Nautilus Bodybuilding Book”, “High Intensity Bodybuilding”," Nautilus Advanced Bodybuilding Book" and Ellington’s newest, “New Bodybuilding for Old School” results. To me it is a compendium of training instruction peppered with informative/entertaining stories and great photos.

I thought a saw a link to an ebook version of the The New Bodybuilding for Old-School Results book. If there is one can you let us know what the link is?

The link to the eBook is at the end of my article: “Gold School: Triceps So Big.”

Got it the day it came out!! Actually bought two of them. Gave the first one I bought to my training buddy. Young kid I observed moving slow and strict doing curls one day in the gym. Struck up convo with him and asked him why he was training like that & he EXPLODED! Grabbed his gym bag and pulled out his dog eared copy of the “The New Hit” book and we had a nice talk and I enlightened him about the whole HIT deal! We trained together for about 2 months. BEST progress I ever made. Unfortunately he moved back to Texas where he works in a super slow training facility . Haven’t had any luck finding another devotee.

You can get it from UK Amazon!

Hello Dr. D,

How do you compare all your older books to your new e-book?

Regards,
Ron

The new eBook, 30-10-30, details my latest concepts. These concepts are not in any of my previous books.

The New 30-10-30 ebook Extreme HIT features probably his best workout plan ever. The 30-10-30 method allows for more time under tension and providing a deeper level of inroad with less taxing on the nervous system and allows for training every muscle group 3 times a week! As naturals, the training stimulus is what activates muscle protein synthesis. I highly recommend the book.

  1. The Nautilus Bodybuilding Book
  2. BIG

I own all of Dr. D’s books and these remain my favorites.

Having a pile of these books in front of me this week and which ones I keep picking up there’s no doubt number one is the New Bodybuilding For old School Results and number two is the Nautilus Advanced Bodybuilding Book. The contents are great but for me it’s really about the pictures. I love seeing Boyer Coe working out on Nautilus Machines.

Having spent some time this week looking at this Test Nation site it’s becoming pretty clear that Nautilus is losing its importance and I wish there was a section or something devoted to us Nautilus enthusiasts to help keep Nautilus alive in our hearts!

I would love to see that also Scott

Dr. Darden, I would like to start a Nautilus thread somewhere on here for people who want to talk about Nautilus. It seems like this section is the only section where people on T Nation might show interest in Nautilus so is it ok to start a Nautilus thread here or should it go someplace else or not at all?
