What's Your Career?

I work for a small production company doing all sorts of on-screen graphics and 3D sets for award ceremonies (UK & US based award shows, such as Investor Relations in New York next week).

Anyway I’m only 23, haven’t done any degrees yet and have always been doing something graphics related, started with designing websites.

I study accounting.

Summers, I run a small house-painting business.

I also have a part time job being an asshole. The pay isn’t much, but it’s something I truly feel passionate about.

Government employee here doing IT Support.

Gotta love the government. Attend work, sit on T-Nation and you tube allll day. I don’t even have to look busy because the manager is always on break lol

I’m a writer. I write. I started by writing, and progressed to writing, and still write to this day.

High school flunkie, turned roughneck, worked up to tool push, then went to work representing the oil company as a contractor supervising rigs. Its a great gig.

Started off with such high hopes of becoming an orthopedist, but somehow ended up drawing cartoons for tv shows and commercials. That led to an offshoot actually teaching animation and life drawing at a pretty big NY college, and before i knew it, the teaching was the day job, and the animating was the freelance job. Currently working on a book.

S

Grew up in the nursing home/intermedite care facility for the entally retarded that my family owns and operates. didn’t want to do that when I grew up.

Went to college for engineering, 2 years in realized I didn’t enjoy what I was doing. Graduated with a degree in Media Production (TV and Radio). Musician in my free time. Graduated and started working with the family business just to have an income, and realized i really enjoyed what we do as company. I will graduate with my Masters in Healthcare Administration in September.

I can always play music, I can always train, and I enjoy my day job. I can’t wait to have all of these things I love and my new daughter that will be here in May.

Got a degree in computer science, which was bad cos I got sick of programming my senior year.

Gout a job as a network engineer, which I could have done straight out of high school with some slight orientation work.

Got laid off on a MONDAY last July. Since then I have launched my own online marketing company. I help local businesses generate online advertising campaigns to reach their market through the Internet. Currently expanding that to doing SEO websites.

I also have some side projects I am working on, various websites that will create recurring income streams with little to no maintenance.

Studied Aircraft mechanics. The pay sucked so I part-timed as a stuntcock and chicken-plucker. Luckily I stumbled into oilfield by chance. Currently a technical instructor with Halliburton.

Fulltime asshole

Parttime reader of Lew Rockwell, Truthnews, Antiwar, and other anti big govt sites.

Fulltime fantasy baseball, football commissioner.

Mow the lawn, do the dishes and regularly take the dogs outside to do their duty.

That about sums it up for the moment.

You’re all about some monotony, aren’t you?

I’m an illustrator.

<— I drew my avatar (originally for a major fitness mag).

Well, at least that’s more productive than making hemp jewelry and owning a dog.

I have the world’s greatest job. I own my own English school for kids in Japan. I have the type of personality which dictates that I must be my own boss, because I absolutely despise being told what to do, so this suits me wonderfully. I basically play all day long with little guys and people pay me for it. The greatest thing is that I don’t have to make that trade-off between what I love doing and what makes money. My career choice affords me a basically unlimited income (my business keeps growing and my income increases in tandem) while I love going into work every day. The only thing that sucks about doing this job is that I cannot live in America while doing it (yet). Living in Japan is very taxing at times.

I also do some TV and radio, and have another side business which will hopefully start providing me with a self-perpetuating hobby and income stream at the same time.

Undergrad student aiming for a career in orthopedics/sports medicine.

I’m an accountant. Has it’s ups and downs. From April to December I really don’t do much. Gives me time to study for the CPA exam. From January through March I work like 60 hours a week. Training takes a hit. And no, I don’t do taxes.

My dream was to become a baby killer & police the 3rd world ;). But I became a desk jockey IT guy. Network admin and Server admin. I would love to be in the military doing both but I am also a Dad and don’t think at 33 the military will want an old d00d like me.

Steel plant worker. I stand in front of a big machine all day, or night.

Cant complaign.

I’m 24, graduated college (3 year program), automotive background, when I was 21. Worked as a Sales Manager at a Car dealership for a year and hated it. Then spent 2 years working as a consultant in the auto industry doing promotions, sales training, marketing and dabbled in pro driving, then went back to school. Currently finishing off my BBA in Management.

Plan to screw off for one more year, then maybe do an MBA and grow up. Only thing I’ve ever really wanted to do was be in law enforcement, so that may eventually happen.

I like threads like these, gives a good insight into the people behind the names.

Over and out.

Corporate Finance and Accounting undergrad

-Worked for the CIA (yea no shit)
-Worked for a government contractor
-Work for an international automotive supplier

I love cars so it was a pretty easy choice for me. I currently work in a plant which is fun and interesting. I plan to go back to the government one day though. As much as I like making good money where I am, I miss the feeling of helping to keep the country safe. Sounds corny, but it’s true. I had a lot of pride in my work while I was working for the government and it’s contractor.

Yes I do taxes, no I wont do yours :)? hell I still need to do mine!
