Classical Music is not ghey. Beethoven’s Ninth is one of the greatest compositions ever created by a human being. I’ve lifted to Beethoven’s Ninth and Fifth before and have performed well while doing so. I also study with Mozart, Handel and Bach playing the background.
I’ve lifted to Jackson 5 before. Mostly I Want You Back. Also, Jack Johnson and John Mayer. I know I know, pretty bad, but I kind of piggy back on what someone else said earlier about getting sick of listening to Slipknot, Wu Tang, Nas, RATM etc…Also, I listened to Tiny Dancer once when I first started lifting. I had just watched Almost Famous the night before and it was stuck in my head…

Not purposeful but in my garage gym my CD player was not working a few months back and it seemed like everytime I was in the middle of some max effort work, Beyonce’s Put a Ring On It would come on. It passed without notice more than a few times (I’m focused, or distracted, who knows?), until one time I’m like “what the eff, are you kidding me”, “how can I get ornery with this ish playing”. Once I noticed it, it was a distraction EVERY time - and it was in HEAVY rotation at the time which meant hearing it at least once per session. Shoot me. God help me if I was tapping my foot to the beat, kill me slow.
