What Would Your Strong Words Be?

One that sticks in my mind - " Reputation is what other people know about you - honour is what you know about yourself"

Oh and one from Arnie -

“To loose is acceptable, to fail is not”

“No Whining!”

“It doesn’t matter if you lose as long as you come with it”

“Hate is not worth it because either the person you hate doesn’t know or doesn’t care.”

Vaguely off-topic, but these are strong and wise words; I beg everyone to read them carefully.

Live Your Own Life

"What could you possibly be proud of then? "

I’m proud that no-one has latched onto my incompetence yet, and that despite not trying, not caring and not seeking to improve I STILL get the same rewards and respect as my co-workers. True incompetence is harder than it sounds.

Everybody’s friend is nobody’s.

Some quotes of mine from a “book” I’m working on…

“Never trust anyone who aspires to rule or conquer anything”.

"It?s funny that being in an honorable or noble position usually means stepping on someone to get there.

"If you believe in something, that?s fine. However, if you have a need to make others believe the same thing you do, ask yourself why.

"there are many things that can be taken away from us. One of the few things that can’t, is our mind.

to tolerate the intolerable.

The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do.

“KNEEL BEFORE ZOD, SON OF JUREL!”
Sorry. Just reminded me of the old Superman line. But, to add to a classic line from another movie that one could go by.
“Do or Do not. There is no try!”…

Here is something that I came up with:

"The greatest moment in a man’s life is the moment that he realizes that he alone is responsible for what he will become. He has the choice to be strong or weak, intelligent or ignorant, a success or a failure. What you become is based purely on conscious effort, hard work, patience and determination. Therefore, the only question to ask yourself is: “What do you want to become?”

Kent Lorenz

You get what you put in, and people get what they deserve.

I’ve always liked this one.

“Fear is the mindkiller.”

It’s originally from Dune but it’s also a Fear Factory album.

The Path that leads to truth is litterd with the bodies of the Ignorant
Musashi

There can be not Triumph without Loss
No Victory without Suffering
No Freedom without Sacrafice
-unknown-

So would that make you competent in being incompetent?

juninho: Is that something really to be proud about? I’d be ashamed to be living that way. But you know if that floats your boat…

Kent Lorenz, I LOVE that quote. This is the reason I started this thread, to find other inspiring words. Hope you somehow do become famous some day and your words do go up on the ‘Strong Words’ soon.

Lance Armstrong:

“Quit? You know, once I was thinking of quitting when I was diagnosed with brain, lung and testicular cancer all at the same time. But with the love and support of my friends and family, I got back on the bike and won the Tour de France five times in a row. But I’m sure you have a good reason to quit. So what are you dying of that’s keeping you from the finals?”
