What to Expect when Lowering Dose?

Advice here that 150mg was way too high.

Yes, it does when you go from 2 times a week to every day.
Systemlord always fails to tell people you need to drop your weekly dose by 20% going from twice a week to daily.
Systemlord is (((fake news))) man. I feel sorry for those guys that take his advice. I can’t remember one guy posting success long term taking his protocol advice.
SL no need to respond to me personally I blocked and muted you a long time ago.

I never did.

Went from 150mg/week, ED → 100mg/week, ED

I don’t give a shit what you did to your protocol.
You said, “Lowering a dose does not cause serum levels to increase.”
and that is wrong and I just posted why.

Sorry, I see this now. Not sure, but do you have E2 numbers on 150mg that confirm high E2? How about TT/FT numbers on 150 as well - to see the ratio of test to E2.

So why are you posting in here?

You still haven’t proven yourself correct.
If two cars are driving 150, and one slows to 100, it will fall further and further behind. It will not slowly catch up while still going 100.

I don’t…I was going off of symptoms that seemed like high E2.

Was thinking of making a post about all of this and how difficult it can be to read E2 symptoms.

I had something similar happen last year… Was sure it was high E2. I took DIM, CDG, drank lemon water, cranberry juice…was tested and E2 was 25. I think I was having low E2 issues.

Increased my dose from 120mg to 140mg taken at 40mg EOD and this past June, my numbers were TT 1192 and E2 sensitive at 41. Some might even say E2 at 41 is low for a TT of 1192, but I was pretty horny in June actually.

This is s funny game we play. Good luck in your journey.

Thanks man, you as well.

Yea, the whole time I thought I must have low E2, and then high E2, then who knows. Did the same thing, tried CDG and all that, and couldn’t figure out what was going on. I lowered my dose to 100mg to start with a clean slate, then after 1.5 weeks started feeling way worse. This week, even worse. My girlfriend asked me yesterday if I’m in PMS! Ha

The blood test may have been too early, but I’m just going to go back to what Dr Saya set me up with, minus the HCG, which seemed to be making me feel worse. Then I’ll see where I’m at in 6 weeks.

Currently on Test Cyp 160mg split into two doses 80mg (Mon/Thurs). Been on this protocol for 10 weeks now … doing bloods tomorrow to see where I’m at. Feel good overall with a small bout of acne here and there. I’m really curious about doing daily injections … feel like there is always room for improvement. You mentioned about cutting the dose by 20% once going daily which will put me around 130mg a week? Could you elaborate a little more on that concept? Thanks!

You’ll have to excuse hrdlvn, he routinely goes off the rails for no particular reason other than he is unstable.

I have good mental facilities, I have never had to tapped out and given into to weakness and had to block anyone.

I deal with everything life throws at me.

There is little point in aguring the facts, like medicine, testosterone cypionate has a half life which takes 40 days to reach maximum effective dose.

Pharmacodynamics is not a myth, you do not get access to all 100mg at once, the ester must breakdown in your system before it becomes available. Each new dosage builds up half lives in your system.

No it is not a myth, I attended pharmacy school for a while actually, years ago.

Changing the dose does not reset anything, and the serum level when going from 150>100 will begin to drop. It will not increase.

Look at the example I made above:
If two cars are driving 150, and one slows to 100, it will fall further and further behind. It will not slowly catch up while still going 100.

Given another 3-4 weeks, the serum level would drop further as it “settles” from the lower dose of 100mg.

You would be surprised how fast levels can decrease after changing doses, levels become unstable and levels swing wildly. It’s not gradual or linear, it’s chaotic, the HPTA is finicky animal.

Sure, When you inject daily you have raised your trough some will say you have no trough.
So when you average your peaks and troughs from twice a week it will be lower than the average from daily injections. This has been proved by many guys who posted their bloods over the years. The consensus is a 20% drop in weekly doses will give most the same TT.
Free T is a different matter and based on SHGB. I hope that helped.

You didn’t know? Everything in the medical world is 6 weeks. Break your arm? Here, wear this cast for 6 weeks. Throw out your back? Here, take this script for 6 weeks of physical therapy. Have depression? Here, take this antidepressant and see me in 6 weeks. Change your thyroid dosage? We’ll do labs in 6 weeks, and adjust from there. The list goes on.

I often wonder the same thing. Lol.

@bigmistake2, based on my experience, the depression you go through when lowering your dose is transient. I compare the mental effects of testosterone to caffeine in this regard. If you went from drinking 3 cups of coffee a day for years to 2 cups of coffee a day, you’re probably going to feel at least a little shitty for about a week or so until your body adjusts.

I’ve lowered my dose several times over the course of 6 years, and I feel better in the long term on the lower dosage… grant it I get a little moody initially. Labs will help you here, but you do have to wait until your hormones reach equilibrium before you run labs. Good luck!

EDIT: I see now that your labs after 1.5 weeks show low E2 and relatively low TT. It could be as simple as you need more T to get your test and E2 back up to healthier levels. I agree that your TT will not increase. If anything, it will continue to decline over the next couple of weeks.

@geezus_21 - I think some of the confusion here is from the misconception that I switched from twice a week injections to ED. I’ve been on ED almost from the start, I just lowered my weekly dose.

Another member suggested this site and it really helped visualize it: http://steroidcalc.com/

Yea, I’m going back up to 150mg/week. The way I see it I’m paying Defy for a reason, even if HCG didn’t agree with me, I should probably stick to 150mg for now and see how it turns out.

What did you ultimately end up doing?

This is a bit premature as I give my six week bloods Friday, but I was started on 200mg test cyp once per week and now see that’s considered the “top end” of therapeutic. I feel great, but I’m wondering if I can lower my dose and still feel great.

I’m curious to hear if you reduced, stabilized, and felt as good or better.
