Pres. Obama Appoints Non-Economists to Key Economic Positions
I would like to retract my earlier statement about people here not being that far off the reservation. It seems as if we have a LOT of far off the reservation righties here. Next stop Alex Jones and Obama created Hurricane Sandy after causing the Aurora Colorado shooting so he can take your guns. Being from smack dab middle Kansas I know plenty of those type exists, I just didn’t realize so many of them existed here. How many of you also think Barack Obama is the Lizard King and rife with intergalactic malicious intentions? I’m not saying he is…BUT PROVE HE ISN’T!
Good lordy some of you are far out of reality. It might be fun to visit, but I’d need some copious amounts of shrooms to get where you guys are heading.

Er…do you have any actual criticism or refutations to make about anything that was posted or are you just hurling cow pies for the heck of it?
Topic B is introduced under the guise of being relevant to topic A (when topic B is actually not relevant to topic A).
3.Topic A is abandoned.
You brought up a shit publication that Russian nationals and scholars of Eurasia/Russia see as unreliable, dubious, and sensationalist. Your title “What THE RUSSIANS are saying about Obama’s USA” is on a similar intellectual level.
So answer the questions I posed to you or as they say on ye ol’ interwebz…GTFO.
It does no such thing.
It does. The same fundamental ignorance of Russian history and geopolitics applies to you as well.
You mean like Van Jones, Valerie Jarrett, David Axelrod and the congo line of Commies and hard leftists he still surrounds himself with?
I see two political advisers and a one-time adviser on environmental issues. We’re talking about economics here, so why don’t you produce an economist. I’ve already produced 4, and not a single Red.
Or is David Axelrod setting interest rates these days?
Bernanke was appointed to a fourteen-year term by Bush II.
The fourteen year term was simply as a member of the Fed’s Board of Governors. As Chairman he was appointed to a four-year term–a term which was renewed when President Obama re-nominated him. So no.

And what a team. He quantitatively eases it; Obama spends it.

Despite your thinly veiled sarcasm you have yet to contribute anything to the discussion of American foreign policy towards Russia.
“Contrary to the dismissive views of many in the West, Russia is a great power. While Russia may never again reach the superpower status it enjoyed during the Cold War, in terms of its “comprehensive national power”- its combined economic, military, and diplomatic strengths- Russia ranks among the strongest powers in the world today. Its economy has grown exponentially since 1998. Its military spending has increased by 20 percent annually in recent years. Russia holds the greatest reserves of mineral resources of any country in the world, including the largest reserves of petroleum and nearly half of the world’s potential coal reserves. Contrary to many peoples’ preconceptions, Europe depends more on Russia for its supply of energy than the Middle East. Russia has turned away from the post-war integrationist foreign policy championed by Yeltsin and Kozyrev. Great Power nationalism has returned to Russia, and with it traditional great power calculations and ambitions.”
This is important. This is tangible. This is relevant. Not this speculative discussion of President Obama’s supposed political ideals in spite of his governance. Address this. Do you agree or disagree with the paragraph above?
You have now posted the above quote on this thread three times that I can count.
This is a hijack. This is incompetence.
This is common sense:
How about you come down from your high horse and start your own thread?
Despite your high intelligence you do not seem to have the ability to find the “post a new thread” link.
You do not seem to be very conducive to freedom of speech since you keep telling us what we should be talking about!
How about exercising the freedom to start your own tangible thread to enlighten us on Russian policy?

I’ve made my points in this thread. They haven’t been refuted. The discussion has moved on from them. Now I’m just gonna sit back and enjoy the insanity you guys have.
I think you may have been quick to dismiss the lizard king thing though. Obama, born in Kenya as the son of Stalin and Malcolm X’s donated sperm, probably saw some lizards growing up. It is likely he may have even had one as a pet. As he grew older and became more indoctrinated in the far left by a team of trained liberal scientists, professors, and mathematicians he may have learned of the Lizard aliens who control so much of the galaxy. It is possible at this time he was planted to fulfill his destiny of becoming the one and true Lizard King and taking on a global government as has been dreamed about by Lefties since JFK.
Do I think Obama is the Lizard King? I wouldn’t say that necessarily, but based on the evidence it DOES make you wonder.

Keynesian = socialist for all intents and purposes. That was easy.
The President of the World Bank is not a key economic position inside Obama’s administration. It isn’t even an American institution. And it has nothing to do with the American economy–the Word Bank gives loans to poor countries.
I produce Obama’s top financial advisers and appointments–all establishment capitalists, mind you, and all people who have had a fundamental role in engineering Obama’s economic policy–and you rebut with Jim Yong Kim and Christina Romer? Followed by the concocted claim that Keynesian economics is equivalent to socialism? Austan Goolsbee and Alan Krueger followed her as Chairmen of the CEA, surely they are socialists as well?
You simply don’t have a case here. No matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to rebut Bernanke, Geithner, Summers, Gene Sperling, Rattner, etc. with whatever paltry evidence you can produce that he’s appointed radicals to minor economic positions.
I’ve made my points in this thread. They haven’t been refuted.
You said Obama is not a socialist, despite the fact that he was a member of a socialist party and was elected to the Illinois Senate on a socialist party ticket. You then suggest that people who think he is a socialist are insane. Let me explain something to you my little dumpling. Socialist may be a dirty word in the US of A, but in the rest of the world everyone from former British Prime Minister Lloyd George to the current French President self-identify as socialists. It’s not an uncommon phenomena to be a socialist and recognising them is not a sign of insanity.
And what a team. He quantitatively eases it; Obama spends it.
The discussion is about socialism. You’ve failed to argue that Obama has appointed a noteworthy number of socialists or radicals to major economic positions–because he hasn’t. He’s appointed capitalists and Wall Street financiers. This is a fact, but you must either ignore it or rationalize it away because it conflicts with your beliefs.

We could play this game all day.
Alan Krueger was Obama’s chief advisor on economic policy and Obama nominated him to be Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for economic policy and then chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers.
“A review of Krueger’s writings has also revealed that he is about as Keynesian as economists come.” - CNN, source:
“Goolsbee’s credentials as a hydraulic Keynesian are impeccable.”

Either you don’t understand Keynesian economics or you don’t understand socialism. Keynesian economics are socialist economics:
“Non-revolutionary socialists took inspiration from the work of John Stuart Mill, and later Keynes and the Keynesians, who provided theoretical justification for (potentially very extensive) state involvement in an existing market economy.”
…In other words, they can “afford a safety net” because they haven’t eroded the savings and productivity of their citizenry…

Or is it because oil is $100+ a barrel?
Oil has a firm floor underneath it because of monetary expansion worldwide. Norway is able to benefit from $100 oil in part because they haven’t debased the krona alongside the USD.
Ultimately in a rapidly depreciating dollar environment, it’s likely Norway will take the path of expanding government fiscal intervention further and inevitably crush their private markets in the same way the U.S. has. The Krona will do better than the dollar in either case.
…I’ve made my points in this thread. They haven’t been refuted…

I genuinely LOL’ed.
Please point out where I was refuted, for extra credit please point out where you attempted and were actually successful. Beans made some good points and if I knew how to multi-quote them on this forum, I’d respond, but the discussion moved past that after I read it.

Of what party is Barack Obama a member of? Is it the socialist party? If that is your ACE in the hole, then please point out what party Barack Obama won the nomination for President and what party he is currently under. Please tell me under what party did Barack Obama win the Illinois Senate seat under. What letter was beside his name on the ballot. His landslide victory led to quick ascension in WHAT FUCKING PARTY’S RANKS? You can talk that “new party” shit all day long and blah blah blah sought endorsement. Makes no difference to me. Obama has NEVER WON AN ELECTION FOR SENATE AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A DEMOCRAT.
Good God I’m going back to Lizard King, you people are fucking insane. Caps used so you can see how stupid you are.
