What Labs to Order from Quest Diagnostics?

They just opened one up near me. I’m mid cycle. Trying to order CBC, Cholesterol Profile and Hormone Profile but the only thing I’m seeing for male hormones is a Testosterone test, does this include E2 and Free Test as well? Never used quest before, anyone who has used them, what are the best tests to order?

I use quest, but I use the discounted web site (I don’t think I can spell it out here) to buy from them indirectly. If you go to that site, you can buy different panels.

I have done the bodybuilder comprehensive test (about $300) during cruise that includes just about everything short of thyroid, and I have done one that had TT, FT, DHT and E2 during blast.

Do we have PM’s on here? Lol

They do not. Just google discounted labs, and you will see what I am talking about. That is the name of the company. I think you save a bit going though them.

Stan Efferding used to work with a lab and had good prices as well. I believe they also use quest.

Generally, you can save a bit of money not going directly with quest, but using these other sites.

I’ll just link it. I am unsure if it is against the rules @Chris_Colucci ? It isn’t a steroid source, so maybe this is allowed.

Here is a more basic one.

I did this one recently as I was interested in my DHT levels (using Finasteride).

I use private md labs. https://www.privatemdlabs.com/

I get Hormone Panel for Males II (Quest). It costs $256. Use code JAN22 to get an additional 15% off.

I use this one because it also includes IGF, thyroid, and progesterone.

Includes:
Complete Blood Count / CBC (includes Differential and Platelets): WBC, RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW, Platelet Count, MPV and Differential (Absolute and Percent - Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, and Basophils)
Comprehensive Metabolic Profile ( includes eGFR ): Albumin, Albumin/Globulin Ratio (calculated), Alkaline Phosphatase, ALT, AST, BUN/Creatinine Ratio (calculated), Calcium, Carbon Dioxide, Chloride, Creatinine with GFR Estimated, Globulin (calculated), Glucose, Potassium, Sodium, Total Bilirubin, Total Protein, Urea Nitrogen
Estradiol, Ultrasensitive, LC/MS/MS
Insulin-Like Growth Factor I (IGF-I, LC/MS)
Lipid Panel with Ratios:
Total Cholesterol, HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides, LDL-Cholesterol (calculated), Cholesterol/HDL Ratio (calculated), LDL/HDL Ratio (calculated), Non-HDL Cholesterol (calculated)
Progesterone
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA), Free and Total
Testosterone, Free and Total, LC/MS/MS
Thyroid Profile w/ TSH:
T3 Uptake; T4 (Thyroxine), Total; Free T4 Index (T7); Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
Vitamin B12

This testosterone test will provide actual results, including when the total testosterone value is >1500 but <10,000

That is a good deal IMO.

the same website for $182 there is Hormone Panel for Males. code RHINO gets 15% off or JAN22 for 15%. I looked and this seems the least expensive with lipids.

Includes:
Complete Blood Count / CBC (includes Differential and Platelets): WBC, RBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, MCV, MCH, MCHC, RDW, Platelet Count, MPV and Differential (Absolute and Percent - Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Monocytes, Eosinophils, and Basophils)

Estradiol, Ultrasensitive, LC/MS/MS
Insulin-Like Growth Factor I (IGF-I, LC/MS)
Lipid Profile:
Cholesterol, total; high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol; low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (calculated); triglycerides; Non-HDL Cholesterol (calculated)
Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA)
Testosterone, Free and Total, LC/MS/MS
(
This testosterone test will also provide Total Testosterone results when the value is >1500 but <10,000.)
Thyroid Profile w/ TSH: T3 Uptake; T4 (Thyroxine), Total; Free T4 Index (T7); Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone (TSH)

Make sure you get the LC/MS testosterone test while on cycle. It has a much higher upper limit. If you use the standard test, it’ll just say >1500ng and that’s not really helpful

Edit: I see @throwawayfitness beat me to this

Never understood the idea behind doing bloodwork mid-cycle.
I mean, if a person choses to cycle, it means he already is ok with fucking himself with a hormonal rollercoaster, right.
And then what. So you see you bloodwork is shit mid-cycle. Will you stop? Your HDL is a bit low, your LDL is a bit high, you cancel the cycle, and continue screwing yourself up with PCT and then just continue where you were before the cycle? Oooor you do what most people do - just see that its shit and continue anyways? Then whats the point?

Somehow i believe that just DOING bloodwork, seems like an actual health thing to do for some people - so the fact that you see the numbers, just cancels the damage.
Im sorry if im wrong, of course and this is not the case.
Its just that most people do bloodwork, see that its shit and just carry on. In this case, i dont see any reason to do it.
On a cycle and after a cycle, it is supposed to be complete shit. You worry about bloodwork if you do TRT, BnC or… in worst case - when you did your cycle, pct and then are back to normal, lost all your gains, been natty and miserable again, and now you see how much that rented muscle for 2 months, half a year ago, did cost you. If you want your bloodwork to be normal-ish, you dont cycle, you dont blast.

Its kind of like people who are 2 hours late already but still keep checking the phone to see that : “yyeap, im still late”

found myself unable to finish. before choosing to use caber I checked progesterone to compare to my baseline to see if that was the issue.

also curious about the effect some compounds were having on things like IGF.

my favorite compound is said to lower it. the only way to know if this was my experience was to compare baseline to while using.

Agreed with @throwawayfitness i think it has more to do with adding ancillaries to get certain parameters in check rather than just seeing it’s bad and stopping.

Well he mentioned cholesterol… The stuff you guys said makes sense yea.

This is why I only got TT, FT, E2 and DHT measured. I am not taking anything that would mess with prolactin, so I didn’t measure that, but I was using an AI and Finasteride. I wanted to see the impact to those values.

Found out I respond well to both. 0.25 adex EOD on 875 Test (TT was ~4700), and E2 was 81 (range was <39), DHT was 55 (range was something like 20-65).

Now I know about how much AI I need going forward. I am less likely to crash it. I’ll be honest, I was thinking about doubling the AI before doing the blood work. Double the top of the range isn’t a big deal with all that Test.

When I was taking MK-677, I made sure the blood work I ordered had IGF-1. Turns out MK-677 doesn’t do shit for me. So I stopped buying it.

IGF-wise it raises mine a little. Added to 2ius of GH, it actually adds like extra 1iu of GH worth while adding extra 1iu of GH wouldnt do that to me.
But what about somatrope hormone levels? MK does almost double mine. For anti aging and all the good stuff HGH does, its a really cool and cheap option.
I have even stopped taking HGH daily and i just take a bit before fasted cardio on my cutting days, all the other time, MK has me covered with that. It also gives a nice pump and a small bloat in the right places - kind of feels a bit like a small dose of dbol.
