One…two…three adds on one page. 3x the add revenue. Score!!!
And if I ‘X’ them out they migrate across the screen and laugh at me as my fat finger is way too big for the tiny close out box which then sends me to a website I DONT WANT TO GO TO.
This shit gets more broke every week that goes by.
Everyone here needs to realize it’s been degrading performance wise for 18 months.
It’s clear, they do not care about the users.
I guess I’m pissed most bc they hold all my data. I’m currently trying to figure out how I can get it all in the easiest manner so I can move on. And trust me, I want zero help from Chris, T Nation or Biotest.
People great, company complete and utter failure.
I’d be embarrassed if this was my enterprise.
Edited to not sound like a complete jerk, just a partial jerk.
Absolutely untrue. This is more unnecessary and unhelpful hyperbole, like using supplements wrong and then saying those supplements were a waste.
Also untrue. Members brought up issues, I made sure the people who needed to know knew, the issues are getting worked on. Sorry it’s not a flip-of-a-switch solution, but it’s being addressed.
Sucks that you’re still having problems, but I’m on the site 8+ hours a day on a laptop and mobile and don’t get the problems you’ve mentioned. A bunch of other members don’t have the problems you’ve mentioned.
Like I said yesterday, based my limited knowledge of tech-stuff, I believe it takes a while for solutions to be nailed down and put into the forum’s code or whatever and then time for each member’s account/device whatever to register the change has happened.
Sure doesn’t seem that way.
LOL. Because the website is having sporadic technical issues for the first time in almost 20 years?
There’s been issues with the site since you guys fouled it up with the original upgrade that everyone hated. It’s been a spiral down since. Just look at the dates on this sub form threads.
But you know better clearly.
And it’s only gotten worse over the past few months.
Do you guys have monkeys trying to fix this.
There’s no way it’s this difficult. No way whatsoever.
I literally don’t know what this is supposed to mean. A threat of some sort? Or that you don’t typically complain so it should carry more weight that you’re complaining now?
People said “Problems!”. I said, “Yep, I’ll tell the guys to fix it.” You’re saying, “It’s not fixed for me yet. It should be fixed by now. Why isn’t it fixed?” I’m sorry, but I don’t know what else to tell you.
Dude…let’s chill out for a minute. It’s a free forum to discuss weightlifting and other random topics, not a sensitive and private work email. If it’s really upsetting you, it’s as simple as you logging out and leaving.
I’m having issues too, and I don’t like it, but since it took absolutely nothing for me to make an account and post here, I realize that if it gets to be too much for me, it will then also take absolutely nothing to get the problem out of my life. (Oh, and I’ve bought Biotest products before, too.)
It seems like things are clearing up for some users, I suggest we all give it some time to see if it works for us too.
Oh, and directing anger @Chris_Colucci doesn’t seem productive - it doesn’t seem that his position involves the magic computer coding stuff that would fix these issues.
I’m fine, thanks for your concern. Chris is a big boy, he can handle the critique. This was a top notch business years ago; I held them to a high standard. That’s the frustration, expectations too high. This place became ONLY about money. Adds shoved in your face at every turn, poor forum infrastructure decisions which has led to a horrible user experience. I hate seeing great things driven straight into the ground. This was a great thing (the business conglomerate that is).
Hopefully they right the ship. If not, that’s ok too. If they want this to be the business of yesteryears, they need to make a 180.
Mines gotten a bit better. Having less issues with replies and it doesn’t seem like my likes and replies are screwing up like they did. I still have issues but I do trust it’s something they will continue to work on and that something has changed to improve bits already.
I don’t really know what this means. The place has always needed money to survive and always will. No different than any other business.
Ads are essentially all over the internet and always will be. It’s how places keep things running. The main website still puts out a ton of free content that could have been locked behind a paywall years ago. We don’t know what the books look like but supplements and ads are the main sources of revenue. And we don’t know what they are making off the supplement side and that business is always going to have ups and downs. I’d imagine Covid isn’t helping anything. It’s possible that their supplement sales have been down even before it.
No one wants the forum to run crappy, that’s not the goal of any company that has a forum. We can tell Chris what issues we are having and I trust that he’s sent those up. Always seemed like a straight shooter and I don’t see his incentive to lie. We’re not going to be privy to everything that happens and why and that’s not a fair expectation for us.
I’m sure we’ve all been on the other end of giving tech advice to someone and been met by “but it’s still not working”, with no feedback on how it’s broken or what could be done to fix it. Let’s try and give the feedback that will help fix it.
As you can see, the above post has been replaced by a shadowy version of my post. If I was to edit my post immediately, only the greyed out, shadowy version would edit. If I were to leave the page and come back, it would display correctly.
Clearly it’s lost upon some of you. Others have touched on it up thread too.
I’m in business for a living with a S&P 500 company and have P&L responsibility. I would not consider running a business unit in this manner. Even if it’s online. Just because it’s easy ad revenue does not mean it’s the solution to profitability.
I can’t remember, and I may be wrong, but were the forum members polled about the initial wholesale changes to this site some 2 years ago? I think I remember just waking up one day and the entire experience being different. If I remember correctly, most were upset with the ‘upgrades.’ If I remember correctly, @Chris_Colucci response was ‘we have to get up with the times and new tech.’ But many upon many couldn’t stand the changes. That was years ago! And it’s still struggling.
This place has changed a lot. User base has changed. Much less informed and educated. Not singling anyone out with that either so don’t take offense if you’re a beginner.
A consistent unraveling.
Edit: hell, maybe it’s an industry thing. I don’t know. But I know the correct business plan is clearly not in place. Perhaps it’s just tweaks, or perhaps the whole thing is broken.
