I think it’s just a low res display going by the Windows icons.

You are right, we are reading the comments and I will address the best I can.

  1. Regarding the LIVESPiLL, it has been retired and will not be brought back. It essentially had the same 20 people commenting in it, if even that. Also, the majority of the authors hated commenting there and we couldn’t make them do it, because they prefer to answer questions on social media sites, for obvious reasons. We also have a much larger amount of user interaction on the social media sites, where it is their preferred method. We understand that Facebook and Twitter aren’t for everyone, which is why you we will always have the forums on T-Nation.

As some of you have already been mentioned, not every article is going to have a lot of discussion on it, so why create a dead thread for that article. If someone thinks that there is some good discussion for an article, then create the thread and get to the discussing. No, authors may not jump in to answer questions, but, as already covered, they weren’t doing it in the LIVESPiLL either. The few authors that did comment in LIVESPiLL are just as likely to comment in the forums, so give it a shot.

  1. The issue with being logged out is being addressed and will be fixed soon.

  2. Same with the search function.

  3. I’m not sure what the problem with the icons covering text is though. Can you please let me know exactly you are seeing and where, so I can look into it?[/quote]\

Well, thats too bad from my point of view but I can understand and see why you guys did it. Thanks for the responding to us all.

Is there at least a way to link to the actual article thread happening on facebook instead of the generic T-Nation front page?

I really do glean a lot of info from the Q&A if and when the authors go back and answer people.

As far as getting a direct link to a Facebook post, you can just click on the date/time it was posted at the top of the post, e.g., “2 hrs”, or “Yesterday at 10:25 AM” or whatever.

It is a little weird to click the “comment on facebook” link, get to the main page, and the top few articles posted aren’t even from today.

+1 because GHOSTBUSTERS

Seems like the login issue is still there, but on the bright side, it seems like my posts are appearing faster so that I can participate in discussions.

Finally someone got it. Kids these days have no appreciation for tradition.

Dear Management:

Maybe I am beating a dead horse here, but I feel compelled to once again make a plea for a new section of the forums for article discussions. For it to work, there would need to be a thread for each article and a link to the thread at the bottom of each article.

I read the comments from the moderator and appreciate you taking time to share with us your thoughts when you have no obligation to do so.

The reason I write again, is that I STRONGLY suspect that the core of this community continues to be frustrated by this change as I do.

I find myself going to the main page of T-Nation much less often already. Today I went, read the article on improving the raw squat, and found the missing discussion painful.

Again - sorry to dredge this up again. If you are reading this, thanks for your time and all the value that you do provide.

I really think you are beating a dead horse here. The amount of traffic the facebook page generates compared with what goes on in here is vast.

We’ve been passed over like old farts in this vitual nursing home called the Tnation forums / discussion boards. The discussion thread is old hat my friend like VCR’s and walkmans, things have moved on… If your not on FB then you dont exist, well in a commercial sense that is, so sayonara…

But I agree with you and I spend a lot less time here than I used to, it’s pretty shitty but what can you / we do? Sign up to FB??? Fcuk that!

I’ll beat the horse with him. Obviously whats done is done and it aint coming back because 3 people here miss it. But the quality of responses on FB are notably terrible.

Even if that weren’t the case and somehow the quality was twice as good, the conversations are essentially lost after the first day. If you go into the archives (I’m actually noticing its only until about 2006 now, they seem to be going back and uncoupling the forums from the articles) its great to read the authors responses in the forum discussions after the articles, at least I think so.

The way they have it now with the bottom of the page linking to the standard T-Nation facebook page (and not the article discussion) there is basically no way to do this after a few days.

It would be nice if under the training section of the forums there was an article discussion sub-forum. No automatic links or anything. Just a specific location to start threads so they’re all in the same place.

The login / logout situation is still going on. I’m being logged out every time I close the site or am idle for a while. I also don’t see the login button on the front page anymore. I have to go into a forum first and then click the login button.

The circled buttons don’t seem to be working at least in Chrome. The page doesn’t load for some reason.

Was about to come on here and post this… Lots of glitches happening lately.

  • If you hit the “last post arrow” or click on the username to jump to the last post you just get a white screen (Desktop using Chrome, and mobile on Safari)

  • Still getting signed out, even after only a few minutes

  • Sometimes I can’t even log in. I’ll enter my username and password and click log in… Only to be taken to the forum still logged out
