What Happened to Plazma?

I don’t see Plazma in the store any longer. Has it been discontinued? I sure hope not!

I just came online to ask the same question. I thought it was preorder able for Dec, same as Mag-10 (buy 3 get 1 free for Dec 12th!). Don’t want to lose the Mag-10 preorder…shipping to UK, so any feedback would be great.

@Tim_Patterson

My understanding is that They reformulated Surge Workout Fuel and now consider that superior based on their internal testing

My fear when they rolled out the new Surge was that Plazma would fall by the wayside. Hopefully that’s not the case.

if only they made a beta-alanine free version. didn’t make the swap because I hate the tingles.

Never got them myself so I cant relate directly, but I do imagine something like that would be a deal breaker.

Im partial to eating food myself instead of drinking, so perhaps Mag-10 + Fini bars could work for you as a replacement?

I gave the new Surge a try. I’ve been buying products from Biotest as long as they’ve been making them. The new Surge is the only one I’ve ever returned. If Plazma is indeed gone, I’m going to have to try to replicate it somewhere else I guess.

Unfortunately, at this time, Plazma has essentially been discontinued. While it’s possible that it may return at some point, the ever-rising cost of ingredients and the difficulty in sourcing them has made manufacturing it an extremely difficult task.

While we understand that you have previously tried Surge Workout Fuel, we still highly recommend it for workout nutrition needs. Surge shares many characteristics with Plazma, but the formula has been updated using the latest research and our experiences with elite athletes to offer a superior effect.

I’ve never used Plazma, but Surge is awesome. I’ve been using it for the past ~1.5 years and will keep buying it. Occasionally, I get curious and want to try something new and will check out with else is out there. I’m really surprised to learn that no one else makes a similar product that checks off the boxes I look for: 1) no caffeine, 2) carbs and electrolytes, 3) no fake flavors/sweeteners.

I say give Surge another go.

I appreciate that I with a few others seem to be an outlier in preferring Plazma over the new Surge.
I can make a custom blend through another company that gets pretty close to what I want and I can sweeten it with Stevia if I want or leave it unsweetened. Until Biotest brings back Plazma, that’s the route I’m going to go. And when Biotest does bring back Plazma (I’m thinking positively!) I’ll be first in line to buy it again.

I agree … tried something else ( not from Biotest ) when Plazma went to the auto shipping but it’s not quite as good , but I see now it will have to do.

One thing I don’t like about what I’m using now is the Beta Alanine is in it - I hate it - but seems like every company has it in their formula.

Tried Surge and I didn’t think it came close to Plazma

I’m not trying to sell you guys, I’m genuinely curious because I also love Surge Workout Fuel (I actually prefer it to the old Plazma, probably because I like the beta-alanine). What is you don’t like? Is it anything other than beta-alanine? Basically what did Plazma give you that Surge doesn’t?

I had better workout performance and recovery (less soreness) using the Plazma. I also don’t care for the Beta Alanine or the taste but neither of those would have been deal breakers for me.

If you do some searching for websites that allow you to make custom protein blends, you should be able to find a site where you can make your own custom blend of the main ingredients in Plazma. It probably won’t be as good as Plazma but you can do a blend that doesn’t include Beta Alanine.

I just happened to be searching for protein dessert recipes when I say this thread. I wanted to respond to this because I’m seeing others mention beta-alanine. When I was taking Surge to save some dough over Plazma a few years back, I spent months trying to figure out what was giving me icepick headaches. I compared every possible ingredient I could think of and my gut told me it was the beta-alanine. I thought maybe it was betane anhydrous but I realized that wasn’t it. It just had to be the beta alanine. Of course this is anecdotal but I haven’t had them since I stopped Surge 4-5 years ago.

Wasn’t the protein I liked about it … it was a great pump I got. But … I was already getting a great pump with my own mixture of Argentine ( 5 grams ) 6 grams of Citrilline Malate, Cialis, and a little cayenne pepper mixed in Gatorade and additional flavoring because the Argentine tastes like shit. I’d add DMHA once in awhile if I felt I needed an extra kick. The one thing I don’t add is the alanine … I hate the feeling of insulation in my clothes !

I saw so much talk about Plazma so decided to give it a try since one scoop saved me some time and mess than mixing my blend. I’d say they were equal just Plazma was easier to prepare … one scoop and the flavoring.

I tried Surge and got nothing and then after looking for Plazma again, saw it went to subscription shipping and that turned me off. I don’t like anything on ‘auto ship’.

So I’m back to my mix but have added a liquid ‘pump enhancer’ to it but won’t say who’s in case mentioning a Biotest competitor isn’t allowed. My mix is a lot less expensive also.

I’ve heard from standard YouTubers that beta alanine works like creatine as a saturation supplement. Found that when I take it regularly after a while I really don’t get the tingles but if I skip it out it comes back
