I am a Residential Case Manager in an organization that provides support to persons with severe and persistent mental illness (read: schizophrenia). Basically i help the clients on my caseload maintain housing, benefits, and employment, and i help them stay educated about their illness so they can maintain their health.
I’m also studying to be a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) and hope to get that certification in the next year or so. When i get it, i’d like to work with dually-diagnosed adolescents.
