I already acknowledged in previous posts that I wasn’t that tactful in my second email to him however it hardly warrented a reply of calling me an asswipe.

What is there to understand? If he didn’t like what I said then all he had to do was say so, no need to act like a 4 year old and call me names.
Also, my email was not that tactful but it wasn’t so rude to ellicit his response, telling someone they should remove an ad if the item has been sold is pretty fair game I think. Leaving an add up just creates problems for potential buyers and the seller, the buyers waste their time replying to it and waiting for a response and the seller is bombarded with inquiries.
I understand your logic about removing the post. But you have no social skills, that’s why you don’t understand what there is to understand.
Your email did not simply lack tact, you crossed over the line when you told another man what he should be doing. It’s completely innapropriate to the situation. The only time you tell another man what to do is when he is so stupid and weak that he NEEDS it.

What is with the people calling you an asswipe? The OP has done nothing to any of you and he says he wasnt even trying to be rude to the guy selling the truck. If you think reading about a misunderstanding that has nothing to do with you is annoying, try emailing some one and haveing them ignore you. Then sending another email that you thought was fine, and haveing that person call you names.
Some of you even gave him shit because he didnt assume the guy selling the truck had been to buisey to reply to the email. How about the fact the guy assumed he was being an ass wipe?

I have sold countless old truck parts and a few trucks over the Internet and your 2nd reply would have pissed me off, you don’t understand when you got a good deal you will get a dozen+ emails just like your 2nd reply! Most of the people will be polite. Just for future reference here is how I would have structured the 2nd email.
“Hi I sent you an email about **** truck two days, sorry to bother you again but I am VERY interested in your truck and would like to come look at it if still available.
Thank you for your time and please let me know either way”
Which unless the guy is a complete jackass should have got a response like this.
“thanks for your interest but the truck sold X amount of hours or X day after placing the add.” At this point if I had other similar items you might be interested in I would mention them.
I’ve sold stuff on ebay where people threatened me with negative feedback because I said I would ship it on lets say Monday morning. I didn’t end up shipping the item tell 2:00PM and didn’t have a chance to send a tracking # tell 4:00PM because of work. Well the guy sent me an email around 12:00PM asking if I had a tracking number, and than sent me another email at 2:00PM threatening negative feedback!
The buyer could have tactfully got his point across but he didn’t, was extremely rude and obnoxious.
You could have phrased things a lot differently than “do you ever check your email?” Still got your point across and actually get a real response back.
Live and learn man and to keep arguing over email back and forth now is just childish, drop it and move on.
