What Cookware Are You Using?

My fiancee and I recently received as a pre-wedding gift a set of cookware from a company called Table Charm.

Just wondering what products you all are in favour of, and what you’re currently using - or, I suppose, if you have no preference/don’t place any importance on such things.

Everyone is on the stainless bandwagon, but I’ve really started to hate it. Shit DOES stick to it and they are a bitch to clean(I clean the same 12" skillet twice a day).

I think I’m just going back to non-stick coatings and just replace them once a year.

I use these from Professional Cookware - Cookware - Professsional Cookware & Pans | ProCook

I’m in total agreement with analog_kid - Stainless is a bitch.

I also insist on good knives - I use Global exclusively. http://www.globalknives.uk.com/

They are not cheap but I prefer the light weight and razor sharp blade over the heavier sabatier or equivalent knives.

Me use fire and stick for cooking.

I’ve had the same cookware, including non-stick stuff, for almost 6 years now. The non-stick is about as non-sticky as sandpaper these days, but it gets the job done.

teflon coated 10" skillet + plastic chopsticks…i make everything from spinach to eggs to steak with them.

I use the same nonstick pan for everything. No idea what the manufacturer is.

Alclad. One of those stainless veneer thingys, as well as cast iron and nonstick. Pots are like knives, you need a few different ones around the kitchen.

The best that I’ve used to date.

When did people start doing pre-wedding gifts? Nice:)

Back in my bachelor days I bought some POS teflon 20 peice set from Walmart that still is very functional to this day. It had pots, pans, and utensils in it. It’s upwards of 15 years old now. I don’t mind teflon flakes in my food, do you?

Haha…well, (and I bet she could explain better than me) it seems we select the outfit we like and the cost of it is added as a registry option?

So we get the product now, but payment is deferred until the wedding.

Pretty cool, this wedding stuff. I think I’ll do it once a year or so.

If you would have accepted my proposal you would have known about this.

I have a 12" cast iron skillet that has been used almost daily for 25 years, a 6 qt dutch oven that is just as old but not used as often, a 8" skillet, 12" gridle and grill pans that are all ~20 years old now. Stainless pots in 1.5, 3 and 12 qt sizes.

Cast iron is cheap, non stick and if you take care of it will last virtually forever.

iunno b, my mom does that shit.

My wife and I got these. They are prety nice. I don’t know if they are worth what we paid, but I like that they are shiny and have a whistle.

waterless, yeah…similar to our set…you like them?

Really??? I’ve never heard of such a thing. Is it only certain stores? It must be.

Too bad you couldn’t do this with great shoes.

I use my grandma’s cast iron skillets and griddle

they are worth their weight in gold

they have that seasoned look, nothing sticks to them and they are awesome because they were grandma’s

Yea, I like them prety well. I don’t do the waterless thing. Thats just a pitch. I steam my veggies and just use them as regular pots and pans. They are fine for that and should last for a couple of lifetimes.

I’ll leave them for my children. They may not have a window to throw it out of, but they will have a pot to piss in.
