I romanticize the 20th century in my head a bit but it’s quite refreshing to know that we really are doing things better now.

I like the simplicity and innocence of the olden days. People used to get offended at foul language. Only one person needed a job to maintain a household, and we weren’t in such a damn hurry.
But I like the modern life too, we have at our fingertips more information than ever before. We are more educated (if we want to be).
That and we do recognize, now more than ever that “All men are created equal…”.
