Why do you consider that a problem?
I don’t. That’s why I said “not my problem.”
Why do you insist on considering it A problem? (you did it again)

For the same reason you insist that it isnt.

I’m obviously not the one insisting on anything.

If tomorrow two Suntologists visit your home to discuss how your astralbody can still be saved through light-therapy…
…will you perceive that as the new, central problem of your life?

I guess not.
Most guys will be “whatever, I’ve go work to do, have a nice day” and forget the whole thing within minutes.

Unless you have some evidence you can bring forth to the discussion, there exists no problem.
Not because I wish it away but because otherwise there would be limitless problems.
It’s an appeal to ignorance.

Consequently, a religious person would have to believe all the other religious dilemmata, which would probably result in a massive, paralysing display of cognitive dissonance as one rule would conflict with dozens of others.

So in we Squallkur correctly the fight.

Apparently Goku reads Davey Crocket:

“Be sure you’re right. Then go ahead.” — Davey Crocket 1786

Of course, as a reminder, Crocket died a horrible death in the Alamo. Can’t remember, but I think he was shot in the gut.
If I remember correctly, he died in the basement of the Alamo.

That was PeeWee Herman’s Bicycle. Get it right next time.

The other aspect of weightlifting I’m struggling with is the over consumption of food. In Buddhism we’re taught moderation and with weightlifting one goes to extremes to pack on weight. I also try to limit the amount of meat I eat, because I feel like the meat industry is pretty terrible the way they treat animals, etc. However, to put on muscle you usually need to consume a good deal of meat, dairy, eggs, etc. I get a tinge of guilt about all this. Buddhism doesn’t restrict eating meat, but still my conscious bothers me knowing how animals are treated. Does this get to anyone else? What do you do instead? Buy stuff from responsible farmers?

You’re asking questions that only you can answer. STOP asking others to choose for you or rationalize a set of choices that YOU need to make. Spiritualism is about finding “your” set of rules that provides for balance in “your” life.

If you’re feeling strong and healthy but feel youre consuming too much flesh then pull it back some till you feel ok. If youre now a-ok with the whole “meat is murder” guilt thing but struggling in the gym then add some fish/fowl till you get moving again. Draw the line where YOU feel comfortable training, food and meat intake wise and see where the chips fall for you. Stop focusing on the end result and enjoy your journey.

By trial and error, if you find that the two are “irreconcilable” for YOU (given your genetics)then such is life. Deal with it.
