Well, a certain doctor whom I know and love decided I might have a little gyno and put me on tamoxofen for a solid 3 months (morning/evening).
I attributed my situation to being a bit on the fatter side of 40, as there were no lumps or solid anything and my estrogen level (monitored regularly) was in the normal-to-low range, but hey, she’s my wife and a doctor. (Right at 16% Bf according to my last physical, which is very high for me.) Said I was probably just overly-sensitive to estrogen.
Well, low-and-behold, the layer of fat on top of my pecs vanished promptly and the nipple sensitivity I had — but which was so slight I really didn’t notice until it was gone — vanished, so I guess she was right.
Well, a side of effect of this is I am notably weaker. Is this normal? Not just “not gains” but my deadlift (for example) dropped 40lbs over the course of 3 months.
Coincidence? Perhaps. I’ve been training shitty due to work and commitments.
I’ve read some nasty things about tamoxifen, and want other people’s input.
Really, 60 folks have read this and no one has anything to say?
I will say I was suprised at how gyno can sneak up on someone, not so much from steroid use, but just from life. Makes a real visual difference to have it gone.
weird… maybe the Nolva decreased IGF1 enough that it resulted in a loss of strength?
what was your dose?
if your training has been shitty…has your diet also been shitty? I would attribute it to that…

Right for the jugular.

And it might be correct. There certainly has been “too much” food, but I pretty much eat cleanly, no matter what. Long hours result in me eating massive amounts of beef jerkey and myoplex. You’d think I’d be fat but stronger.
I think it messes with my sleep a bit; an issue since I train at 5:30am
