We didn’t spend as much time playing video games.

We had more imagination. I spent way more time playing outside with my He-Man and Silverhawks than I did inside eating Cheetos and adding another 40lbs to my gut.

Toys like that can’t sell on that level today.

Who the fuck goes outside anymore?
Its too hot to go outside anymore. lol
Can I get an Amen. X you know Houston has been so hot lately birds are spontaneously combusting.

Dude, I just walked in from the car. That shit is ridiculous. I could cook food on the hood of my car. I had to let the air conditioning run for 10min before I got in.

The temp gauge in the car read “From Hell”.

We broke 50 and 100 year records the past 2 days at 109 both days. Previous records were 104 and 105.

Yeah I’m used to Boston rain, cold, rain, cold repeat weather this wasn’t fun

People can talk about there not being global warming all they want to…I just know I could spend all day outside as a kid and not get heat stroke.

We had the best cartoon openings

^ Lol

I grew up in a house that only had AC in the living room and my parents had a window unit. I dont know how we did it.

It wasn’t this hot! I remember seeing “93 degrees” and thinking it was the worst summer ever as far as the heat. This 110 degree bullshit is new.

I literally have to find shade when I first get in the car so my car can cool down before I drive off.

Man, thank you for posting that. I watched MotU all the time when I was a kid. Usually all I can recall is that weird musical instrument thing, but that didn’t seem to get too much showtime in the trailer…

The avenger’s theme song is probably one of the best I’ve heard in a while. Most cartoon theme songs have sucked since the 80’s.

They do have a good one, although my all time favorite is Talespins.

Awww Yeah!! Awww Yo!!

Just watched this whole series with my kids. Taught daughter how to play it on guitar. Every once in awhile when they’re playing I hear them yell “Avengers! Assemble!” (then vocal guitar sounds).

LOL.

They totally don’t get the back story (yet) for Captain America. They keep saying “he’s from the olden days when you were a kid”…

I don’t think things have gotten all that much better since the 80s. The video games just have better graphics now.

The way I know that I will never ever gain control of a time machine is that I have no memories of having woke up in 1985 with an X Box and a whole bunch of Star Wars games.

They basically treat him like a bitch and if he’s actually been replaced by a Skrull that will be bullshit. The fact that his indestructable one of a kind admantium/vibranium shield has been destroyed is bullshit as well

I have to agree. I was let down by the ending of that season. They could have fleshed out the “nine realms” scenario for another season. THAT is where the real story was. Cap seems less confident…like he isn’t the leader he really is. I could understand that if they were really going to explore the characters more…but they didn’t. Having him sell his soul? really? Cap would do that so easily?

Haven’t seen that serie in particular, but one thing I noticed through others, is that developers and think-tank for that kind of show don’t seem to be fans. Like they read the cliff’s note of a character and then decide to have him do something that is completely out of character for him/her. You could get a better idea of what Cap’s like by reading Wikipedia, so I can’t believe they’re well-informed.

Also, am I the only one that find it funny that a thread started to bash some of the corniest cartoons and shows of when we were kids turned into an appreciation-fest with everyone fondly reminiscing their childhood memories?

Was there a sequel series (or more) ever made? I haven’t seen anything on Netflix.

They’re finishing up the second series now, there is a bunch of teaser stuff on youtube. Pym will become Yellowjacket they will be fighing more in space so they will probably do a Kree/Skrull war, Dr Doom and the FF make an appearence, and Cap get’s the lame ass force sheild he had in the early 00’s after Heroes Reborn
