We Have Lost Afghanistan

Look, mankind is innately evil (explore the doctrine of original sin).

Push you’re dead on. The ONLY way to have peace is to be so strong that no one wants to mess with you. If you’re sitting in your house thinking your safe now and will be forever, without anyone lifting a finger on your behalf…

You’re a fucking idiot.

Can we get an article for the withdrawal date? I missed this.

OP for real, when you post things like this can, you post an article or something.
A sentence does not a thread make.
Several board veterans seem to have missed the memo.

Which is, please stop making shit threads about passing thoughts that occur to you on a whim. Add substance or don’t post at all.

This thread wasn’t so bad since at least it addressed a recent news item but there should have been a news link included. But beyond that, the OP voiced a point of view which nearly everyone on this board already agrees with.

How could you have possibly “won” Afghanistan?

Gone in there with a full force and wipe out Al Qaeda. Get as much as humanly possible then leave.

Its never going to be a “Real” country, it is tribe based. But take out a lot of the tribes and you won’t have to be worrying about anything for quite a while.
That is interesting because every time the US bombs some country to wipe out “terrorists” they seem to spring up like mushrooms after a rainy day.

Maybe you produce more than you kill with this strategy?

Humanity needs war as a release for our innate violence. Wars are now to be fought on the periphery of civilisation due to the scale of weaponry. Somalia is next.

Until something to replace war is invented, we’ll have wars. We’ve had roughly 4400 wars in human history. We love war.
Human history is only about 6,000 years old? I’m pretty sure there are tons of indigenous people who would disagree. Are you thinking of civilization, because then, yes, it is around 6,000 years old. As for your 4,400 figure, is this counting all of the tribal warfares or are you so ethnocentric that you only consider the ones fought by this culture to be worth mentioning.

Who’s we by the way? I certainly don’t like war. What about you?

You’re also assuming that human’s actually have an innate tendency towards the violence you’re referring to. And you’re making the mistake of believing all violence to be the same thing as what’s seen during war. The type of violence seen in modern/civilization-based war is most definitely NOT the same as is seen in self-defense, rape, physical/emotional abuse or in personal murder.

I am not overtly violent, nor am I violent in any of the other ways mentioned, as are about 99% of the people I’ve ever met. The only way I can see myself becoming violent is if I am forced to do so. How can this be, if the theory of innate violent tendencies is right? Think about your own life, how many people do you know that are overtly violent?

I think you have mistaken various theories for truth and have conflated humanity with civilization. Human’s are generally innately violent only when they are forced to be (whether it be perceived or real; whether right or wrong). The violence you speak of is institutional and civilization-driven. War is a manifestation of a need for control(of people, nature, products, etc.) and a sense of entitlement by the insane people who force other to do their bidding and not for ‘the people’s’ supposed ‘release.’

Almost nothing I’ve read on this thread had any substance. People merely arguing well i think this or that with no facts or articles supporting them. Unfortunately this truly seems to be seen as the correct way to debate by some. Screaming loudest sounds even less intelligent when done on the internet.

You two will do well together. The 9-11 conspiratorialist and the Nazi punk. A great team for PWI. Go forth and conquer.
Hahah. I swear if you had some intelligence and reason to back up your wit I’d really enjoy chewing the fat with ya.

Worked with the native Americans.

HA You seem the prototype for average Joe. Don’t flatter yourself. And my advance age of 17 is relevant? I only asked questions in the latter half of this thread and you couldn’t answer them. In the first half of this thread i merely posted the works of those with thinking minds that dwarf yours. Competitively joust you? Oh fuck that’s good. All you have done is make jokes, run around my questions, assert your opinions with no backing, and try dismiss anything that differed from your opinion as radical nonsense. Are you jousting from the back of a donkey? Oh and btw, you weren’t around for any of the political and historical issues your speaking on so asserting that as some sort of plus for your argument is laughable. Joe.

Yes, but like the little fat kid on the playground who keeps yelling “oh yeah? Well so are you!” even after everyone else got bored and went home, pusshy will keep posting until you say fuck it and walk away. That makes him the “winner” of the debate. Cool how that works, huh?

I can never prove or even begin to make a case for why anything I believe is right. This is likely because I don’t base my opinions on fact rather I just know what is right and wrong and I know it indefinitely! Here watch me first associate these two together and then dismiss them as radicals. My humor will mask my lack of intelligent argument and make my assertions of crazy radical nonsense all the more certain.

Watch as i deviate from topic time and time again and run circles around questions. I am the master of debate and i will joust you off your radical high horse.
Took one from your book and fixed that for you.

lol. Really it is his humor that keeps me responding. His posts genuinely get a laugh from myself. When his humor dries up or he gives it up because he realizes it doesn’t make an argument ill leave. Until then ill play his game.

Tyke, I was around for all of them that occurred after 1960. That includes the Vietnam War. I have fingernail clippings in the bottom of my bathroom trash can that are older than you.

Your high school photo ^^^ tells me it looks like you’d better get to bed. You’ve got Home Ec first period, right?
You “around” for Vietnam? You were actually in the meeting rooms when they were discussing the invasion? Same goes for Afghanistan? Really? Okay in that case I will take your opinions on our goals there as fact without any reasoning. You were there since 1960 after all. Like some baby deity you were “around”.

How did you do that when I was at football practice? Wait did you lend me your old highschool tuba? Also cool beans on being the dazed and confused, still hanging around high school long after graduation character. Except you can’t even pick up on girls so you bully band geeks? in the hopes that they just might be me? Man you really are funny, intelligent, and now COOL too!
