Warhammer Online - Embrace Thy Geekdom

I’m going to wait 'til the Warhammer 40k MMO hits, if it ever does . . .

And back in the day, when Games Workshop was sending out a free Ultramarine sprue with a catalogue, I had a few . . .

And, unfortunately, I think I will be dipping in again, this time, going full-geek. Paints, army boxes, the works.

Not feeling it.

Played in the preview weekend.

Played in the open beta.

There was nothing there for me. The game itself is great and I’m sure a lot of people will love it, but I can honestly say that it is not for me.

Played it, it sucked
won’t play it again

ran like shit on my gaming computer, that I built… that can run Crysis on very high at 40+ fps consistent

Ok, there, I said it.

Speaking of MMORPGs…

I bought WoW when it first came out and had 50 days played time before I quit. Then WoW:BC came out and i got another 15 days play time on my 70. I will never play video games again.

Man the tabletop is great, but the only thing on my mind PC wise is Diablo 3…

I have a lvl 15 Iron Breaker and I quit WoW for the same reason. Pretty much solo’ed to 70 and then got stuck mining primals, bleh.

Warhammer is cool so far the PvP is great. PQ kicks ass but the PvE kinda blows. I’m in with a good group of guys so trying to lvl to catch up to them and start raiding keeps to see how that goes.

When I feel like just running and gunning I play COD4 or Team fortress 2. I suck at both but its fun to just kill, die, rez…

Server Dark Crag
Player: Darkman

level 18 witch hunter.

The Witch Hunter is a tireless foe of Chaos, dark magic and witchery of all kinds. As the taint of Chaos continues to spread and more people are drawn to the dark arts, the Witch Hunters?? role has become increasingly important to the Empire.

Fast, cunning and deadly, they dispense merciless judgment upon any who serve Chaos. While the people of the Empire agree that the Witch Hunters?? work is critically important, rare is the citizen who does not feel pangs of dread when they lay eyes upon one,

for it is understood that most Witch Hunters would sooner burn an entire village to the ground than see a single follower of Chaos go free.

awesome.

LoL has anyone else here played Warhammer with the little models? I used to collect them. It was pretty fun painting and putting together the guys, but going to the gathering of nerds to play the game was too much for me.
Play a couple of times a year with my 3 sons. We have a 3 day tournament at New Years and when the school year lets out.

What puts me off with the online games is the lack of (to me) strategy and thinking for 5 - 10 minutes before making a move. Also, I like to roll 40 - 60 dice at one time.

Save your pennies for Diablo 3

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I was into the table top game in middle school, this took me back.

Is there a way to play against the computer (in other words not-online/ PvP/ whatever you guys call it). I got no game and I my connection at home is dial-up; just looking for a way to kill time for when payday falls on a Monday…

If you like video games, warcraft, warhammer, and laughing, please click.

Not for fantasy. If you like 40k, then you can play Dawn of War.

i knew a kid who was into Warhammer, like the one with metallic pieces. i never got into it but i guess there were like pieces that sold for hundreds of dollars, fuck that noise.

i dont even have a playstation at home…i should buy one though, im here enough but yea i was bad into Diablo 2 (classic)

I’d be playing it if I hadn’t sold my gaming rig. I sold it on purpose so I would stop playing MMORPGs, I don’t have enough spare time anymore especially since I need to go back to school next semester. :(
I have the time but not the rig$$$ (I have an emachines from Wal~Fart I upped it to 1 gig ram a soundblaster audiocard and an Nvidia 6200)

My rig is “still” too weak to run Warhammer or even City of Heroes…

I play WoW. WOTLK ftw.

I roll on Blackrock and Thaurissan as various toons.

I have a lvl 32 Rune Priest, and 17 KOTBS on Skull Throne.

I dig the game, but usually only participate in pvp. The scenarios are a blast, as is the open rvr if you are actually able to get the war parties to engage one another. It seems like every time a keep is actually defended by Destruction, Order will simply take an undefended keep. What’s the fun in that?

I want there to be a game that is set up like Warhammer, but has the amount of race/class combos as Vanguard. Currently you can only be 3-4 races on each side, which is too few in my opinion. They also need to change the look of a lot of the gear, because nearly everyone looks the same except for dye jobs.

Playing Age of Conan casually at the moment.
