This is the same guy who took 5 deferments and got his wife pregnnt so he wouldn’t have to go to Vietnam.

I’m a conservative Republican but I call a spade a spade.
Please show the evidence behind your charge. Post some web sites man…

What would republicans have thought when they had heard that dick chaney “shot” his “friend” in the face in the “woods”…

…not another scandal. I hear a george Micheal song coming on…

News flash Jerffy, dumb and ignorant have different connotations.

Has anyone who bird hunts NOT been peppered at some point?

Okay here is the real concern:

If Cheney keeps shooting millionaires then the entire republican base will be wiped out.

WIPED OUT I TELL YOU!

Sorry bud, I am a conservative republican.

I love what the Republican party USED to stand for: small government, no corruption, and fiscal RESPONSIBILITY. Neither of which Bush or Darth Cheney have pushed for. Hell, Clinton was more of a conservative than Bush is. And no, I never voted for Clinton.

Hopefully in '08 McCain will get the nod and rid of this neo-con element of the party that makes us all look like a bunch of crazy wackos.

If you guys want to hear some trully sick sh…, listen to the press conference that Scott McClellan had with the dem. press.

One of the questions was: “Should Cheney resign over this?”

or:

“Would it have been more serious if the man was killed?”

It was fan-fucking-tastic!!!

I love my dems!!!

I myself have not, but it is not an uncommon thing to have happen.

Let us be thankful for the victim he was using a 28 gauge and not a real gun like a 12 gauge. Would be a different outcome I imagine.

and…it has made for some great false haeadlines

“Dick shoots load in lawyers face.”

“Dick hits attorney with his wad.”

thank you, thank you…punching out.
JeffR wrote:
“trust behind you with a loaded gun” are also out."

markey, you are special. I’m glad you have no compassion for the guy who got shot. It shows just how persuasive and unreasoning your hatred of George W. Bush is.

And there we have it, ladies and gentlement - the classic “conservative” method of argument and discussion - attack your opponent on morality grounds with no precedent whatsoever, making all kinds of nasty assumptions about the person, and hope that everyone completely forgets what was being argued in the first place.

So I’ll just bring it up again for ya. Would YOU trust Cheney behind you with a loaded gun?

…and if you wouldn’t trust a man with a gun, would you trust him to run your friggin’ country!?

You can’t pretend to be conservative and think McCain will take the party in the right direction.

As someone who actually campaigned for Reagan as a Young Republican, I vaguely remember something about small government and responsibility and lack of corruption… but it seems oh so long ago.

Maybe it was just a beautiful dream.

Cheney shot a rich white Republican…maybe he’s more liberal than I thought…

Honestly now, they are making too much of it. I read an article on MSNBC.com where they were questioning why the news came out so slowly, and some other crap. A hunting accident is just that…an accident. Being as it seems prevalent in hunting with shotguns, this is an unimportant thing.

Talk about a tempest in a teacup…

This isn’t unexpected. It took a day to come out to the media because it took time for everybody to connect and think out how it should be presented to the media.

This is precisely what the media is digging for, but won’t get told. You don’t “go to the media” until you have your spin decide and the spin machine ready to roll.

It’s embarrassing for Cheney. It makes him look a bit foolish. Maybe it will up his humility quotient, but I really doubt it.

Any of the supposed “we are for the people” liberals going to second that notion?

I know, the slogan is as hollow as your party.

JeffR
I agree with you Jeff - I hope that he is ok. But I think that most liberals are just having a little fun at Cheney’s expense. This whole story is a non-issue.

Send Cheney to the front lines in Iraq and let him fire away…

By the way, where were the Secret Service guys during Cheney’s shooting spree??

I think Cheney should resign just like Ted Kennedy did after he drove drunk off a bridge and let May Jo Kopecne drown. And BTW how many deferments did Kennedy get?

Scott McClellan was being questioned by Dems? I think this is a little disingenuous.

Exactly Vroom. They were sitting on it, thinking of the best spin.

Actually McLellan only fronted up with the story after it had already broken, being released to the local news by the owner of the ranch where it happened. When McLellan was asked why he didn’t release the story, he said ‘Dick’s first priority was the health of his friend’. LOL

I agree in the big scheme of things this is not so important, not as heinous a crime as, say, what Ted Kennedy did, or making up stories about WMDs and non-existent links to Al Qaeda to justify invading someone, but it does make Cheney look like a right royal idiot, and, about time.

another account:

What a f*cking loser. He broke most of the rules of hunting right there

 1. positively indentify your target
 2. never fire while turning
 3. never fire back in the direction from which you have come

You can be convicted for such negligence, accidental though it is. Of course, he won’t be.
So you are upset because he only winged the lawyer?
