“he has used his prominent position in the medical community to promote practices that financially benefit corporations that have given him hundreds of thousands of dollars”
That’s all? Noob.
“Doctor creates billion-dollar industry, receives approximately his annual salary.”
His consulting fees and total receipts over a number of years is just plain sad.
Maybe the author just doesn’t understand that.
Get 30 mins of sun a day.
I can tell you this much, I used to catch a few colds every winter and usually the flu too, I was taking 1000iu vitamin d per day back then. About 2 or 3 years ago I read an article on EliteFTS that was saying that the recommended daily intake of vit d in Europe was 4000iu so I started taking 4000iu and I got sick less often and felt better in the winter. Last fall I watched something with Stan Efferding where he said there were studies that have found additional benefits up to 8000iu per day so I started taking 8000 and I haven’t been sick since. There was one time in the spring that I felt like I was starting to catch a cold but the next day I was fine.
So regardless of where the funding for the vitamin D industry came from, it looks to me like it really works. It’s cheap too, I can get about 250x100iu for under $10 at Walmart.
Zinc and D are both important for proper immune function.
It’s better to buy tje D3 k2 combo.
This is just a quick copy and paste but you can google it…
While Vitamin D ensures that calcium is absorbed, Vitamin K2 (specifically as MK-7, the most bioavailable form) directs it to areas of your body such as your bones, so it can be put to good use. Without K2, the calcium absorbed may be deposited in the arteries, where it can lead to calcification or other issues.
Unless of course there is shadowy money behind k2 also ![]()
Why not just eat foods high in K? Natural beats pills
K2 is found mostly in fermented foods and quite frankly I am not THAT fond of them. I do drink kefir and will eat some sauerkraut a few times a week.
I also throw a cup of spinach in my protien shake everyday. For vitamin K
I just looked it up and vitamin K deficiency is pretty rare, either your diet is complete shit or you have other serious health problems if you are deficient. One serving of pretty much any green vegetable is several days recommended daily allowance.
I found a blueberry kefir product that tastes good. Some fermented stuff is very sour though yes and not enjoyable to have everyday. I eat loads of spinach.
K2 is a pseudovitamin.
Vitamin K1, also called phylloquinone, is mostly found in plant foods like leafy green vegetables. It makes up about 75–90% of all vitamin K consumed by humans (2).
Vitamin K2 is found in fermented foods and animal products, and is also produced by gut bacteria. It has several subtypes called menaquinones (MKs) that are named by the length of their side chain. They range from MK-4 to MK-13.
I throw spinach in my fat ass shake everyday.
Grass fed meat, butter and cheese have k2. I eat grass fed beef. Im going to look into grass fed butter.
How much k2 do you actually need? I just looked it up and it’s in dairy products, particularly cheese and butter, as well as eggs and meat. It doesn’t seem like something to be concerned about, but I could be wrong.
I am sure it’s not a big deal.
Beef liver, kale and arugula, aged cheeses.
Well… I am not eating kale or arugula to get it…lol
I had very similar results I increases to 5000 iu and haven’t been sick but once in 5 years. Before that I’d catch something 2-3 x yearly.
