Good day forum, I have slowly worked my way up to higher doses of Vitamin D. Month before last 5000 IU’s of Vitamin D a day. Last month 10,000 IU’s a day. Now i am on 15,000 IU’s of vitamin D a day.
I have read that certain high doses of Vitamin D can cause calcium build up in the blood. Are there things i need to take to counter balance the calcium build up or do i need a test to figure that out.
Side note: My energy levels have improved dramatically when 15,000 IU’s of Vitamin D were taken.
I would think you have a medical reason for taking such a high doses?
IF you have a medical reason, and you are currently trying to bolster your level of vitamin D I would get checked again every couple of months to see where you are at. Once your in the optimum range you need to back off your dose, IMO.
As for the calcium question, again I would only take such a high dose for a short period making it a none issue. That being said I’m not a doctor so take that with a grain of salt.
Vit K2 is required to balance out with Vit D.
I found out that you require 1000mg of K2 for ever 10,000 UI’s of Vit D you take
I am currently taking 20,000 UI’s per day and have been for the past 6 months
Whilst I have experienced some brilliant changes, I would above all else advise listen to your body, if you feel rough on them, lower the dosage.
This is the link to the K2 I take:
from my understanding, Vit D when taken in tablet form at massive amounts begins to break down calcium in bones that the liver can then release the Vit D hormone into the body, K2 counters this by providing another source of calcium saving your bones, from what I gathered there are no effects in the short term only in prolonged use without K2.
Best test your vitamin D3 levels to make sure you are not taking to much. D3 is a safe supplements from what I’ve read. Few cases have been reported of vitamin D toxicity. But with that said, its best to be safe.
I want to improve my testosterone levels naturally till i can get some insurance coverage and get the bio - identical testosterone iv’e been wanting. I have read up on iodine vitamin D magnesium chloride and vitamin A ,K,C.
More importantly i need to take a test of all my vitals so you guys can diagnose where i am deficient at.
1/ Check your blood levels of Vit D
2/ If deficiency, go to a doctor and ask for a treatment and the correct dosage
3/ In prevention of deficiency, the usual dosage for non sun-exposed people is 70 to 100 000 UI every seasons
