Insult me all you want, but I’ll bet that you spend hours in front of a TV with video games instead of anything productive.
and yeah, that is indicative of all gamers - I didn’t say that my kids, nieces and nephews were poor performers in anything academic, but video games have stolen something from their lives.
I don’t expect you to believe me or understand, cause you have such a limited exposure to all things in this life, and cant comment on something that you cant understand.
You’re absolutely right, much the same as you are spending your time in front of a computer doing nothing productive as well.
I figure someone who is older wouldn’t see the world in black-and-white, but then again I must know nothing of the world, nothing at all. If being young and dumb is not seeing the world as absolutes, I’m okay with that.
But you’re totally on point, I’ll go back to my shallow existence of videogames, hot-pockets, not going to school and living in my parents’ basement. Good debate.
Wait you eat hot-pockets?
Of course! Playing all these video games has left me with no desire for anything in life at all, including the upkeep of my diet and health.

another kid comes along and thinks that he’s got life by the shorthairs, and discounts all the experience and knowledge that the older gen is able to impart.
video games are sucking the life out of this generation - I’ve seen it happen with my kids and nephews and nieces.
whatever.

Ive seen this too.
I know a guy who FINISHES NCAA football games…as in 35 seasons worth of football games. He does nothing else…1pm-3am, NCAA supersetted with Final Fantasy and WoW…
Throw a football at him and report back. I bet it will be a hilarious story.
If you get arrested for assault I apologize in advance.
Tackle him too. Three point stance and BOOM! Will be hilarious.

hot pockets are breathtaking -
Cmon kid - don’t give up so easily. I’m sure you don’t fit the mold of the ones that I’m describing, you obvi train, so we have something in common.
why you gettin so butt-hurt about vid games? do you sell them or something?
you already agreed that the majority of the gamers out there are pot-smoking no-life buckets of puss, so at least you agree that I’m half right.

When you look at the majority that do play videogames, then you see laziness, immaturity, and lack of manliness. They stick out so much that they cover those who arent like that. Like rap, ask an old timer to describe someone who listens to rap and you would get a guy who looks totally differnt than me but I will listen to it every now and then. The majority sterotypes even the minority.
I realize this, but it’s NOT CORRECT. That’s what I’m saying.
Remember that thread where Waylander trolled everyone talking about how 95% of the black people in Tennessee were bad people? Remember how everyone flipped their fucking lid?
Or how is this any different than the outcry of Planet Fitness that happens in GaL every other week?
Honestly, tell me with a straight face (or keyboard) that this is ANY different. It’s a bullshit stereotype and generalization.

The problem is when you are an unmarried kid and sitting on your ass in front of a tv instead of on your bike cruising the neighborhood you will never see neighbor suzie in her bikini at the neighborhood pool and will never happen to peddle by when her parents are gone.
It’s one thing to be married, adult et cetera and use games in place of TV, it’s another to replace childhood with digital bullshit.
Once upon a time people actually played real football games around the neighborhood instead of pushing buttons and talking to jimmy down the street through a headset who probably couldn’t run the length of an empty lot if he wanted too.

no?
Like I said, and I do apologize for getting a hot head.
I got upset because I don’t think making a broad and sweeping statement is correct in any regard. I get defensive because I consider myself a gamer - it’s something I do a lot. There’s no way I’ll deny this.
I’ll agree you’re half right, because half of the segment is probably as you described, but that means there’s a whole different 50% who’s getting a bad rap for no reason at all. See what I mean?
Maybe we can just agree to disagree on this one, respectfully?

HG think about that for a minute.
Fat kids who smoke, stay dumb and stay inside.
HG fit, rich, rolling with story’s of off shore fishing and mountain biking.
Who are hot chicks going to let mount them from the behind?

I honestly didn’t know how much time someone could spend playing a video game.
if he was living with you, I am POSITIVE that he spent an inordinate amount of time in his room, pounding his pud pretending that he was 69’ing your fantastic body~
I think it is a safe bet that guys who spend 5 hours every day playing video games would be doing something else unproductive during that time if there were no games. Parents who let their kids play that long would be letting them watch that many hours of TV. Video games are like anything else, should be enjoyed in moderation. I love to play my PS3, as do almost all of my professional friends. We are all in our thirties, all college educated, and all have professional careers.
I love hitting the gym, riding my mountain bike, or just going for a walk, but I do like my downtime sometimes as well. My downtime can be reading, playing video games, watching a movie, or watching one of the very few shows I enjoy on TV anymore. The point is any downtime relaxing activity is going to be unproductive, that’s why its downtime, a good time to switch off.
The problem is when people frequently have 5 to 6 hours of downtime every day. If the guy quoted in this article was not railing against video games, it would be TV or something else.
My 16yo son hates video games, he could not stand to be inside when he could be outside, I got lucky on that one!
Here I am working and all you want to do is have fun?
What next you going to start smoking pot and play video games for what FUN?
Go back to work.
imagine, winning the lottery.
you have more money than your great-great grandkids would ever be able to spend.
would you spend your time smoking pot and playing video games?

25% playing video games, 25% flying around the states to visit people I like and lifting with them, 25% of the time chasing Jlo naked around the house (cardio), 25% of the time sleeping.
