No because Total T will be low, your Free T might increase “a little”, but nowhere near where it needs to be to be symptom free. If you think your Free T is going to be at the top of the ranges by lowering SHBG, it’s not going happen because to get Free T to the top you’ll need a Total T of at least 650-800 for a normal person with mid-range SHBG or SHBG that doesn’t bind strongly.
For a man to have healthy Free T levels, Total T 650> closer to 800. You’ll need more because your SHBG binds androgen too strongly. Take a look around these other threads and you’ll see most who have a similar Total T will on average have higher Free T levels when compared with you.
This tells me your SHBG grabs on hard to androgens.
I thought your were doing 100 2x a week?
So what are your thoughts on Subq v Im? And why you choosing what?
Btw if you are close to wanting a baby going on clomid is fine. I would not do more than 25 mg EOD.
You can always go trt.
Been to a few urologists to get other opinions. One had suggested 100mg once a week and the most recent suggested (strongly) 100mg twice a week.
To be honest, I feel like I’m in a state of purgatory on what to do, even though I’m already two injections in. Part of me is thinking of staying…part of me is thinking of swithcing to Clomid and trying that out…and then part of me is thinking of going natty again and trying to raise some vitamin levels that I tested low in and see if that helps (Vitamin D and B12).
In terms of SubQ vs IM, I will say for IM I felt better pretty much right away whereas with SubQ, I didn’t really feel an immediate reaction, but the dose was also smaller.
I went through this. If you continue injections you will always stress and say what if…
Now is the time to stop and try your other Options. Then u can make a confident decision if u go on injections.

I think TRT is your solution, but there is nothing wrong with exploring all options. Bottom line, you need to do what you think is best for you. We can debate which approach is best, but as long as you are happy with your results it does not matter what anyone else thinks.
Not that there is always a placebo effect, but it is important to have confidence in what you are doing. Otherwise, you’ll end up analyzing yourself every thirty minutes wondering if your E2 is high because you are crying at your grandmother’s funeral or because your nipples are sore after bouncing a 300 pound bench press a little hard on your chest. Or, maybe you just feel “off.”
I’m not sure how to define an “expert”. I suppose it is relative, one who knows more about a topic than everyone (almost everyone?) else? Maybe?
In thinking about it, I think part of being an expert is being smart enough to know you’re not an expert.
Good luck with this journey. You’ve have identified a problem and you are not willing to accept feeling like crap. That’s a big step and one many never take.
Lab results from 5 days after first injection. Levels are thorough the roof compared to previously. Is it normal to jump this much after a single 200mg injection? I was blown away seeing this.
Please tell us how long you have been injecting the same dosage. If it hasn’t been at least 6 weeks, lab were drawn prematurely and these labs are meaningless. After 5 half lives of T-cypionate and you have double the amount of T-cypionate in your system, this is why labs are drawn at or beyond 6 weeks.
It appears you will need at least 1200 ng/dL to have sufficient Free T levels as expected. More androgens will suppress SHBG and increase Free T levels. Your levels were probably a little higher 2-3 days after your injection which is when T peaks, you caught levels after they started declining.
Only single 200 mg shot, then 5 days later a 100mg shot. That’s it.
These labs were taken 5 days after first shot BEFORE second injection.
So you don’t think even these levels would be considered sufficient? Lol. To me, these feel like alpha man levels.
As I thought, you are counting your chickens before they hatch, you’ll probably need a reduction in dosage.
I was more just wondering if it was normal for them to shoot up so high after one injection. The Free T you still don’t think looks adequate?
You’re on TRT and might as well take advantage of optimal levels unless there are symptoms. You’re far too early in this game to be feeling good, you have along way to go before you start feeling good. It can take 6-12 months to reap the “full benefits” of TRT.
You’re natural production is probably will shut down in about a week or so if not already, this may be why you feel like you’re in limbo. You should start feeling good by 6 weeks getting better and better after that.
One more update I just got in. This was from just prior to first injection at 8am a few weeks ago. It’s odd, numbers look pretty okay to me but Free T percentage is still low out of range.
Those results are not awesome, too little free t
Yeah it really throws me off seeing 594 but then still seeing an L next to Free
When I briefly had my Total T at 679, my Free T was 29 pg/mL, that was above the ranges which tops out at 26.5 for young men.
I had supraphysiological free T levels and my total T wasn’t even high normal.
More than likely the testing method used to test your free T is probably inaccurate and overestimates your free T.
Yeah something seems weird. Having Free T calculation well within range but the percentage Low out of range.
The calculated methods are more accurate than the directly measured free T labs, the latter can be off by as much as 40%.
If that’s the case, aren’t I in range?
Your focusing too much on the numbers, do you remember how you felt?
You didn’t seek a doctor help because of these numbers, because you didn’t have any numbers yet, you sought help because of the symptoms. These hormonal fluctuations are messing with your head, ride it out and give the TRT a chance.
Why don’t you venture into other members thread of high SHBG men and compare your numbers to theirs and you see some have much better numbers than you do and they still feel like shit.
I’ve even seen men at Free T 15 pg/mL, midrange levels and still symptomatic, in-range doesn’t mean anything. All it means is there are some men scoring in these ranges, it’s normal for the population, the new normal is becoming obese and unhealthy.
Normal ranges and healthy ranges are two completely different things entirely.
