Haha, something I can hang my hat on at least! My other two lifts aren’t anything special, but a 700lb deadlift has a nice ring to it, lol.
Hey, you give me the word and I’ll trade the other two with ya!

Sandbag carry and load over bar: (20)
150lbs x 30’ x 1
Just minimum reps again as a pseudo-deload day.
Closure on the sandbag popped after the first rep, and I don’t have any duct tape handy to close it back up. Didn’t feel like setting anything else up for assistance so just called it.
@T3hPwnisher @ActivitiesGuy How have you guys closed up your sandbags? I’ve got the large Ironmind as well.
I have 150lbs in it, so there’s a good amount of extra bag that I tried to fold up and tape. I’m thinking next time I’ll just skip folding it and allow for a little extra flop.
Weird. I’ve never done anything special to close it - just put all the sand in (with liners), then folded it over and used the little strap/belt thingy to tie it up at the top. That comes loose sometimes between reps but even with 200 pounds of sand in, it’s not full enough that I worry about sand spilling out.
Whenever I try to patch one with duct tape, it always seems to continue splitting. The way the guys originally did it at my gym did it in sort of a crosshatch pattern and that seem to have some better success
Use a zip tie to tie it off as close to the base of sand as possible.
Then, put a tennis ball in what’s left of the opening.
Then, ziptie on TOP of that tennis ball.
That should keep sand from coming out. Use gorilla tape liberally as well.
@ActivitiesGuy Right on, maybe the last couple times I closed it up I just went about it wrong, because I found the strap to be essentially useless. I’ll have to reassess.
@TX_iron Luckily the bag is fully in tact, just the closure at the top I haven’t been pleased with my results so far.
@T3hPwnisher That’s actually exactly how I closed the liner and it seems to work great. That’s probably the ticket for the outer bag as well, didn’t even consider it haha.
what events are going to be going on at the comp?
Hey man, events are:
Keg clean and press
Car deadlift (keg loaded)
Arm over arm van pull
Keg carry and load
Stein hold
Seems like a lot of fun compared to some that stick to common gym implements.
those look epic, but the keg loading looks amazing

That last 60 second run on the airdyne was more fighting against throwing up than anything. Going to have to look back at what I’ve been eating this week to cause all the acid reflux because that’s miserable.

Man that top set felt good. Went in with a goal of 8, would’ve been happy with 7, walked away with 10. No desire to do assistance after that but practiced with the keg anyway. Found out I don’t have the clearance in my basement to press it so I’ll need to carry it back upstairs and train that outside.
@OTHSteve @flappinit I’m really impressed with your stamina in everyones favorite thread currently.
Nice dude! And in the middle of a SECOND giant set, no less.
Don’t be, we’re weak. Not as weak as that weak piece of shit, but I need to stop giving that guy the time of day. I enjoy reading Steve’s posts, though. Especially since he’s much older than that guy, and he’s able to see past what’s been the norm for most of his life.
Thanks dude! Yeah, I so did not want to do those paused reps before hand but it all came out in the wash.
Haha perhaps, depending on what lense you want to view it all through. But your efforts in engaging that dope have been funny as hell for me at least.
Yeah, I’m honestly in it for the comments from insightful people like @EmilyQ @flappinit @T3hPwnisher. I don’t have any hope of changing this guy’s mind about anything, but I get a morbid entertainment value pointing out his logical fallacies, providing some insight and hopefully making sure nobody on here actually falls for his line of B.S. I like to think that the average poster on here can see past it, but there’s ample proof out there that even relatively intelligent people can get pulled down that rabbit hole.
@flappinit Thanks, man, I’m glad you think I’m adding some value there. ![]()
I abandoned it after I asked him a direct question twice and he ignored it. Guy is going for distance: not accuracy.
He stopped answering my posts a long time ago, until he responded to part of a post today because he decided to agree with one little cherry-picked piece of what I said. If you ask him a question he doesn’t have a pat answer to he just pretends it didn’t happen. edit: I actually think being ignored by him means you’ve hit too close to home and he doesn’t want to think too hard about what you said.
@OTHSteve @T3hPwnisher Yeah considering I just took a peak at the first of 50-60 new post in that thread, and it’s something he’s written a minimum of 10 times prior, I’m pretty sure he’s just got a clipboard of copy-paste responses to up his post count.
Strange hill to die on nonetheless.

Lost track of how many reps I did with the keg. Each rep was better than the last so I was getting a little excited. First one was SO shaky, but got more and more stable with each try. Last rep was actually a fairly easy one motion. Will do one more workout at this weight and add water.
