Worked out in jeans today like a friggin heathen. I’m calling the front raises an unbroken set but I did take 2 rest-pause breaks, they lasted about 2 seconds each, basically enough for a deep breath and to trudge on. I felt silly using a 10lb plate until rep 30 when I realized I made a good choice not going heavier.
Had to rest pause the press downs, couldn’t get my arm straight without letting some blood outta there. Long live the pump.

Sweaty sweaty. Got it done in about 45 minutes today. I can’t remember the last time I had an ab pump that was this painful. I love inverted rows as an assistance movement. Think I’m gonna rig up a suspension trainer out of some spare chain I have lying around so I can do them outside the rack.
YESSS! Finally got some outdoor climbing in this weekend. Hopefully I’ll get out at least once more this year but it may have been the last opportunity. Good day overall, built some confidence back up leading stuff which I needed. A few photos for y’all:
Taken from just below the anchors of a second pitch. Notice the puddle near my foot - this was the drier of the two pitches. Fairly easy climbs become quite challenging once they’re wet!

Squats moved pretty fast today, hips were super tight though. I’ll do a little extra mobility work tonight. Was surprised I was able to curl that weight with pretty decent form, not super strict but body English was at a minimum.
Yep! My buddy lead the first pitch, and I followed and hauled a second rope up to set up a top rope station. I lead the second pitch and we set up another top rope station from there. It was pretty easy multi-pitch stuff since it’s all bolted, I have no experience placing gear…yet! It had been too long from me, I was getting pretty comfortable leading 5.10 outdoors and now 5.9 is a challenge to keep my head cool. I’ll get it back haha.

Bench felt great today, weight flew up. I think I might have a new PR coming. Press felt like shit again. Not sure why I’mfailing on 95, I can always hit this for one and usually for a few reps. Maybe the bench is having that much of an effect? Maybe it’s in my head? Pissed me right off today though so I bailed on the 1/5 thing and just hit the 5 portion.
That press complex is a killer. Muscle snatch - sg btn press - clean grip btn press - Z press - bradford press - push press. Did the first round at 5 reps and the second two at 3, using the empty bar. My pressing strength is a constant source of frustration.
Nice chest pump to remind me of how well bench felt. Off to see Thor in a bit for some laughs.

Should’ve known 195 wasn’t going up based on how 185 felt. Went for it anyway, maybe could’ve gotten it with a bit more rest but I wanted to keep the flow going. No biggie. 35 minutes on this one.

Bench moved real nice this morning, looking forward to seeing if I can set a PR next week. Press has been frustrating me lately so did a ton of reps with an easy weight. Felt like I dialed in some technique cues.
Off to friendsgiving to get fat for the day. Cheers!
Haha definitely unilateral! It’s one of those movements where if I can get it with my left, my right can do it for sure.
I definitely won’t be getting my weight up into those numbers lol, so I’ll be happy with just the one. I’ve gotten a 53lber up before (right only) and my press is super weak so I feel like there’s a lot of room for improvement.
Kept it pretty simple today. Body is fighting getting sick so didn’t want to run myself too hard. Wrapped up in about 30 minutes, pretty slow pace. Was a lazy bastard all day yesterday and felt it today, pretty tight in the hips/low back.
Pulled my last DL hook grip. A little rough on the thumb but not nearly as bad a shoving your hand into a granite crack and hanging from it.

Still fighting some bug, not feeling all that sick but not 100% either. Strength wasn’t compromised but energy a bit low, kept it fairly basic and took it slow. Don’t want to throw too much recovery at myself and let the sickness win.
