I agree on the part of saturated fat and cholesterol. I need more saturated fat in my diet.

Just thought I’d tell you guys, egg and milk veggies are called “lacto-ovo”. And Mike Mahler said he’s a vegan so yes I’d ask Mahler.

I bought this stuff called “vital wheat gluten”, its the protein taken from wheat…very cheap, and high in protein. (1/4 cup = 23 grams). They use it to make seitan, and as some other guys say it does have a meaty texture, and is not as nasty as soy.

It’s more difficult for a typical vegetarian to pack on as much muscle as a meat eater. Not impossible, just more difficult.

However, according to the latest statistics vegetarians don’t live as long as meat eaters, and they get sick more often. Interesting huh?

Vegetarianism has always been portrayed as the “healthful lifestyle.” Then again so was a “low fat” diet…we all know what that’s about. [/quote]

Oh Yeah, Meat (especially beef and red meats) is THE thing. I mean, It has HIGH quality protein, ESSENTIAL vitamins and minerals, MCT, CLA, Glutamine, Creatine and other great nutrients. Wayne W. Campbell found that meat eaters have a better chance to get LEAN and pack on muscle mass. I LIKE meat. I were a lacto-vegetarian for a couple of years. When I just add LOTS OF meats to my menu, my blood samples were better, I FELT better and I’ve actually IMPROVED my body composition.

Anyway, Dairy are good IN MODERATE. I like to consume 2-4 serving (yogurt, low fat cheese and milk/whey protein powders) IN THE MORNINGS or after the workouts (because of the high insulinemic response). dairy are good source for whey, casein, B12 but still, meat is better! the combination, however, ROCKS!

Good luck,
F&F

got beer…that vital wheat gluten looks like it would be awesome for baking, thanks man
