Confession: I tried a pretend-meat burger once, either Beyond Meat or Impossible, not sure. And you know what? It was delicious. They really nailed the flavor. Sure, that stuff is a science experiment and worse for your body and the planet than beef, but it did taste surprisingly good.
I had to swerve the car and run over a kitten on the way home just to get my T levels back up and satisfy my lust for literal murder.
(Relax, vegans. Sometimes we make jokes just to watch you have meltdowns.)
I should have clarified in my postāmy diet is primarily lacto-ovo vegetarian. I do rely heavily on whey protein, yogurt, and eggs. I also consume a good bit of tofu and lentils. So, protein is not an issue for me. I avoid meat completely, again due to the horror show that is factory farming. I did try Maui Nui venison because they are very humane and ethical in producing the meat. However, due to the cut I chose and my inability to properly cook it, it was not a good experience. Plus itās a bit pricey.
Probably my favorite meat, preferably hunted myself. A lot of venison cuts can be tough and benefit a lot from a meat mallet and some marinade.
If you can get back straps from a mature doe (the bucks have tougher meat) it beats any beef steak every time.
