Vegan Diet Shown to Reverse Heart Disease

Bill- There is a MASSIVE over-population of agricultural and companion animals. Many bodies of water regularly esperience hypoxia (lack of oxygen) as a result of the increased nitrogen concentration resulting from these animal’s fecal matter. This endangers native species. Most people who care about animals know this and would prefer that there were very few to no cows or chickens in the US, just like they would prefer that people would fix their companion animals to hault their over-population.

Animals are not going to stop existing because we decide to stop eating them. Infact, the native ones in your backyard might be even better off.

That being said, I do fully support those who seek out humane farmers and buy their meat from them.

See? My statement was correct. You agree that many vegans actually would rather that even those cows and chickens that are raised under humane conditions not live at all. As you say, they’d prefer “there were very few to no cows or chickens in the US.”

There’s really no reason why that wouldn’t carry over to most or all of the world.

These people would rather the animals not live at all than live under humane conditions.

This is not caring about the animals. It’s using the animals as a justification and nothing more, while actually preferring that they not live at all.

That is why I consider it bogus when persons argue that one of the reasons for veganism is for the benefit of animals. Actually the same people would rather the animals not live at all even if under perfectly decent conditions out on the range.

It’s just not a good argument, man. Perhaps I’m missing something.

I mean, leaving aside the issues of animal welfare… You’re eating cows so you can keep a population of cows alive? Following from that argument, keeping kosher is bad because it deprives millions of pigs of life? This is like some kind of pro-life abortion argument! “Vegetarianism stops a beating heart.” You’re talking like cows have SOUL or some kind of spark of sentience that the world would be deprived of. Vegetarians, you are going to stop the bovine Einstein from being born!

Jeez, just eat meat and don’t get dragged into smoky dorm room debates with vegetarians.

If you don’t follow what I’m saying, that’s all right. I expect there are others that do see the point. In fact there is a post above by someone else who saw it, and I doubt the person was alone in it.

You also make an error in claiming that what I am writing refers to my motivation. Nowhere in my posts was there one thing that remotely should have led you to that interpretation. But that’s okay.

Ok, here’s the problem that keeps coming up with the argument for or against Vegan or Meat eater. I have not been able to find any complete, thorough “UNBIASED” scientific research to support either side.

Just about every thing I’ve found is either incomplete (no separation between Raw or pastureized dairy, grass or grain fed meat from what animal, high fat-low fat-what kind of fat, on and on, etc.) or biased (animal rights agenda, research sponsered by the dairy ind. etc)

I’ve read a lot of books and have searched quite a bit online for factual information and I still haven’t found any concrete truth to either side. I’m still searching, so don’t trip. If I find the truth behind it all before I die, I’ll let you all know.

x2

It’s difficult when the farmer lobbiests have a huge amount of sway in DC and the animals rights activists decide to fight fire with fire.

I use the eyeball test. I want to look like guys who eat a ton of protein from animal sources and I don’t want to look like vegitarians.

Everything else is just an endless debate.
