A quick backstory: Been on TRT since i was 29, im 37 now. Had my first kid right before starting. Second child, who is 2 now, was conceived on TRT dose of 200mg a week and HCG 1400iu a week. The second pregnancy did not take long, maybe 3 months? I never tested my sperm count, i just asked my sports med doc to give me HCG, just in case.
So we just found out my wife is pregnant again. Have not used HCG for over 2 years, since my second child was born. Between that time and now i have blasted and cruised the whole time, currently on 500/week for past 8 weeks. So long story short, got wife pregnant while on blast. Just in case any of you out there were thinking you’d be completely infertile because of test.
Anyway, looking for peoples experiences with vasectomies. Although second baby wasn’t “planned” we were OK with the idea if it happened, but I was under the impression, with my time on test, that it was not as likely (oops). Either way, we are both happy. But now, i need to figure out some form of permanent birth control since apparently i have special forces swimmers.
What has been your experience with having a vasectomy? I have read some absolute horror stories online, mainly about pain that never goes away, which is making me hesitate. I do NOT want to live with that, and i also do not want to have to use alternate protection. Birth control pills/meds are out of the question on my wife’s part. So, tell me how it went, and how its going for you. Please. Thank you.
I had one a couple years back. Super easy. Discomfort for a couple days. Went to a Dead and Company concert the day after.
Only thing that was a little weird was that aside from the doctor that was performing the surgery, there were 2 nurses in the room. One was prob 60 and the other was maybe 30 and smokin hot. The hot one held my penis the entire time and had to move it around so doc could do his thing. Was a little weird/embarrassing. My wife laughed at me.
It’s not a big deal. Took maybe 45min.
I had one 9 years ago. Super easy. I wasn’t discomforted at all. I had no downtime and no lingering issues. This procedure is about as minor and safe as they get.
I had a terrible experience with my vasectomy. I got a really bad infection and the urologist that did the surgery refused to see me claiming that an infection wasn’t possible. I went to my primary and he said if I had waited one more day I would have been hospitalized. It was 6 months before I could walk normally. I ended up on TRT afterward because I couldn’t produce testosterone naturally anymore. Still worth it in my opinion. I have 4 children.
Bit like @s.gentz there was a mildly weird thing with the nurse: turned out she was the doctor’s wife. I was thinking, what, they do this together all day then go home and what do they talk about?
I had one in 2019 and super easy. One of the best decisions I’ve made. In and out of the doctors in less than an hour, my partner/girlfriend and I both watched as the doc did it, pretty wild to see. Recovery was less than a week, I was having sex within a few days after, just had to take it easy. Haven’t had any issues after and no pregnancy scares. IMO, totally worth it.
Had mine 5 years ago. They use a lazer and it’s the strangest thing ever seeing smoke come from your plums.
They did my right 1st and I didn’t feel a thing, started on the 2nd and I nearly jumped through the ceiling, the dr then gave me another jab and I went completely numb again.
The left side caused sporadic discomfort for a few years after. Nothing too bad just like a dull ache and was never constant.
On a whole definitely worth it and would definitely recommend
