US Presidential Election Predictions

I prefer the debate. “Lock box” “strategery”

Damn I remember those. Those were some absolutely killer skits. I can’t watch SNL much any more.

Back when they made fun of everyone.

Even if it’s just lip service it’s going to be refreshing to have the idea of a President who doesn’t even pretend to give a shit about the people who don’t love him.

I’ve just got to think a lot of people are tired. I mean the examples are endless but just during this election we’ve had stop the count, then we must count, insisting that he’s won, then saying Joe Biden can’t say he’s won because Trump could also claim victory (which he’s already done). I was hoping for a blowout just to avoid this shit that we knew would happen anyways. Biden’s got a good chance of hitting over 300 which Trump repeatedly called a landslide…instead it’s all fraudulent.

He probably wouldn’t have accepted it if every state went against him though so it’s sorta whatever at this point. It just seems like minus some major miracle this thing is over.

I know that I’m tired, but then most people who are on this forum aren’t the normal voter and I always manage to forget that.

It’s probably the only time in my life I have or will ever hope for a “Blue wave”, just to avoid exactly what we are seeing right now. I don’t feel as bad admitting that because it’s Biden… If it were Sanders I might have shot myself before I could admit to that lol

I was just hoping Covid would stop right after the election like I was told. I guess those damn doctors are still trying to make it a thing.

And with record cases Trump probably going to say in a couple days he’s done better than Biden handling it or something. “Since sleepy Joe stole the election the China virus has gotten so much worse. Sad!”

Probably true. But it would still be better than what that piece of shit Bannon tweeted recently, so I guess there’s that?? (sarcasm)

I’m regards to GoP messaging, it will be some supporting Trump and others not IMO. The guys in areas that heavily support Trump will keep supporting his messaging. They want those Trump voters next election. Basically, they will do what helps them the most.

For some reason I haven’t heard the usual trumpets about how unfair it is that Twitter took action. Even his lawyers appear to want out.

Unfair! Monopoly! Liberal control!

Probably so. If you’re in an area that is heavily pro Trump I think the better way is to basically do what Dan Crenshaw, who is in a really Trump dominant district I believe, did recently and tweet:

"If Trump loses, he loses. It was never an impossible outcome and we must accept the final results when it is over. But the unfortunate reality is that there is very little trust in the process, where irregularities have been flagrant and transparency lacking.

…It should not be partisan to suggest calmly that investigations occur and the court process plays out. Americans need to be sure of the winner and loser. The winners should especially want that"

Calm, stating support for the POTUS and looking into vote issues, but not giving any air time to ridiculous nonsense. I can understand that.

Meanwhile, away from the Dodderer vs the Twit, we have this (love the use of the F word from a white middle aged lady politician) @dt79:

The GOP typically (IMO) destroys the Democratic Party in branding.

The affordable care act was popular when you asked people but Obamacare wasn’t…the GOP controlled that messaging.

Americans want expanded healthcare, they want social security and Medicare untouched. But the word socialism is a giant scare term that has been controlled by the right. So Trump giving billions to farmers isn’t socialism it’s him “standing up for the little guy.”

The GOP dominates in these type of things. Democrats have usually floundered in controlling the narrative on those type of things. As much as people want to talk about the liberal media the most successful people with the most people consuming them remain GOP mouthpieces. The Rushes, Hannitty’s, Tucker, etc. So when those people say the same thing over and over it’s pretty powerful.

I actually think branding things is massive as most voters aren’t that intelligent. And Dems aren’t very good at it. Despite quite often having their ideas be successful when voted on at the state level.

I’m sure de-funding/demonizing the police and the peaceful protesting continuing in the shining example of Portland is simple branding as well.

You need to shed your real life persona and move to an appropriate state for someone of your intellectual acumen.

Well yeah. Criminal justice reform has long been popular even amongst conservatives. Defund the police is not popular. Because it has to be explained that it’s not abolishment.

Even the ideas from many with “defund” the police are long Republican ideas…but when you have to explain that defund doesn’t mean abolish you’ve already lost.

Ok, I’m done replying to you for another 100 posts and another million words. Just couldn’t resist, my bad.

Ok. I’m not claiming to be a genius. But most voters aren’t very informed. Do you think they are?

If lots of people don’t know what socialism is, don’t know the branches of the government, don’t know how many Supreme Court justices we have, etc am I to think most voters are intelligent?

I’m not saying that about any particular side. I would say the average American (voter or not) is incredibly uniformed. And it’s been worse when people largely consume media that confirms their bias.

Ok. I guess I don’t see what I said that would make you run away but if you don’t want to discuss anything you don’t have to.

It’s not exactly controversial. We have lots of data that shows on the whole we are much less likely to know basic civics questions than years ago.

I don’t know why I need to move to a different state. We’re poor in that area across the board.

Yeah, I was talking about the swing in Hispanic and other minority votes in another thread due stuff like the LGBTQ movement. It’s also partly due to this from what I’m gathering from the numbers and demographics. The problem is the republicans are calling everything “socialist” and the dipshit Bernie still calls himself a socialist. I really don’t know what the solution should be.

And then AOC won by a landslide. Holy fuck. Anyone who calls Trump voters “stupid” needs to remember this. AOC won by a landslide. I don’t care if she was running against a cabbage. This shouldn’t have happened unless the voters are… oh fuck it.
