Where are you from originally? I believe you aren’t from America is that correct?
I mean everyone on here gives each other a bunch of shit and everyone thinks everyone else’s opinions are moronic unless they match but it’s all good. We really don’t have much of an active forum anymore so anyone is good.
Sadly t-nation forums on the whole are much, much less active than they used to be.
Nothing wrong with that. We’re men. Not girly men. I’m actually a lot more polite here than I am IRL because of the absence of body language and tone of voice.
This was bound to happen with the way things were done. If a place like PA could have counted early votes first it wouldn’t look like that. Look what happened in Florida they had that shit ready to go. Would be nice to see some uniformity but these vote “dumps” make the conspiracy theorists see things that just aren’t there. If you started Kansas by only counting the few liberal areas that come in big and then waited a long time to count elsewhere it would also look fishy.
The thing is Trump won WI, MI, and PA the three he really needed by 77,000 votes total. It was insanely close in some battleground states and it’s looking like we are going to have razor thin margins here again. But that isn’t evidence of nefarious activity. Battleground states are called battleground states for a reason.
I’m pretty much the opposite. This is pretty much the only place I let some of that stuff out. Real life I’m outgoing but very friendly and polite. I’m always thinking man I might come off like an asshole on here but in the real world I’m the exact opposite. I don’t really have a problem with anyone and I’m not confrontational in the least bit. Hell the biggest thing I miss about the gym is just fucking around with people.
But I’m not joking when I say this is the only place I talk about certain things. Religion and politics simply aren’t things I talk about much at all except with maybe my immediate family and they are all pretty similar in views to an extent so it’s not like a debate.
Well, FWIW I come here to see opinions from more left leaning guys even though I may not agree with some of them. IRL I don’t talk about politics much because I’d be considered a liberal snowflake here in Asia.
This might surprise a lot of people, but aside from the concept of democracy and individual liberty, most of my friends IRL both locally and in China align more socially and economically to the right.
I mean, think about this. What do you guys think China people think about feminism? We bound women’s feet for 1,000 years ffs. Yes, that’s 3 zeros. The concubine system was only abolished mid 20th century and in 1971 in HK. LGBTQ people? Disdain for hierarchies, anti-religion and culture, post modernism etc lol? And what the fuck is post modernism anyway? I only know that term used in the context of art and film, and that’s the kind of shit that China people HATE.
Not sure why people have some kind of idea that the crazy marxist feminists, disregard for law enforcement and authority blah blah blah would be similar, or even accepted by Chinese society or most Asian societies in general. @punnyguy
I gotta tell y’all honestly. If Trump didn’t have so many sex scandals, stopped tweeting and didn’t keep dissing China, most of them would LOVE him. He’s the kind of “strong” leader they generally like.
Strong as in has little regard for rules? I see the term thrown around a bit and I can’t see it unless we mean strong in the sense of wannabe dictator. He takes no responsibility and whines 24/7 about everything and how poorly he’s treated. Just in the last few weeks our strong leader was whining in advance of the election, continues to whine about votes being counted, and had to walk out of an interview with an old lady. I don’t know a lot about China’s leaders other than the biggest players but I can’t imagine if they behaved like that they would be described as strong??
If strong means planning to do stuff even if it’s illegal then strong fits there.
No, he projects the image of strength from his demeanor, body language and manner of speech during rallies. His ability to brush off insults commands respect. The “disregard for rules” is a sign of strength if people believe he’s not being fairly treated.
I’ll put it this way. If the China media was uncensored and they were to spend all day writing shit about Trump, people would be pissed and would think they’re being treasonous because going against your own government would be the same as going against them. Also, the constant nitpicking at everything is a sign of immaturity and weakness.
No one cares about stupid shit politicians say as long as they say some uplifting stuff and attack other countries whom they believe have a problem with them like Trump does since they generally don’t care about politics anyway.
And look, I don’t agree with all this. I’m just telling you what image people would have of Trump based on experience. If someone wins the Presidency, regardless of whom, anyone who whines about it is already seen as weak and whiny. They do not get the idea that patriotism can also exist in the form of criticism of one’s leaders.
People were calling those people hitting the streets in protest after the 2016 results morons. That was obviously before Trump started his beef with China.
I mean I guess. If by ability to brush off insults we mean something like “when critiqued he will respond by calling someone loser or making up a nickname.”
I guess just to me strong is the exact opposite of what I think of. Speaking at a rally to people who worship doesn’t take much. They enjoy the show. “Hey we get to hear classics like lying media, something something socialist, fake Covid, sleepy person, doo doo head, and we get to make cheers about putting people in jail who say mean things.”
Ok, think about this. He called Jeb Bush “low energy” and power played him into keeping his mouth shut. This would immediately have scored points with his audience.
If Trump was in China, he wouldn’t be attacking the media. He’d be attacking the US and claiming they’re leading all the other Western countries seeking reparations for COVID. This is, in fact, what people are being told there right now. You see what I mean?
My point is it’s a typical strategy of finding a common enemy and making people believe they’re constantly under attack. It can be anything. Dems, Western values, SJWs, the media, China, Mexico etc. It doesn’t have to be the media if they don’t give him shit. He’ll just think of something else.
The fraud is they aren’t happy with the results right now. And they have been told by their leader fraud would happen so he could save face if he lost. No issues with a close election when he won. A close election he might lose “rigged!” Just goes back to that not strong baby mentality. Listening to him insist it was stolen if he loses is going to be a nightmare. Ego over country.
They don’t have any evidence they just think everyone should vote like them.
Exactly. There’s gotta be a Devil if there’s a God. You just need to conjure up the former if you want to be the latter. Then you’re leading the fight against evil. Why do you think the evangelists of the loony variety are so crazy about him?
@dt79 Hahah, I know you enjoy the discourse and the exchange of ideas here. Me, ehh, once I think I’m banging my head against the wall, I stop.
Imo, you’ve got to earn the right to be “liberal”, and by that I mean if you’ve never had your lunch money taken, you’ve never been mugged, picked on because you’re perceived as weak/prey, you haven’t earned the right to be “liberal”. The “liberals” totally lost me with the riots and disdain for law enforcement (mind you, as long as it happens to someone else).
It’s politics, but ultimately “the answer” is arrived at just as simply as determining the best way to build muscle or strength. A wise man said, you’ve got studies? I’ve got blood, sweat, and tears. Fear and greed, power and money.
I honestly do not understand the obsession of the anti-Trumpers, the real ones, not the ones milking it for the usual reasons. Actions over words, is that still a thing?
I’m way too simplistic, I probably should’ve checked some tweets or googled some links to back up my point of view before posting.
