US Presidential Election Predictions

Think of the right-wing media bubble as a Netflix show. Season One (2016) was extremely successful because it offered an inovative TV concept and had a memorable villain who seemed beliveable (Hillary) while Season Two (2020) had a rocky start - first some filler episodes (Dem governors as forgettable antagonists for an episode or two), the boring Covid subplot without a defining narrative and finally the showrunners settled on a copy of the Season One plot. Again with a Dem as a head of an international crime/murder syndicate, only this time he has a deadbeat son and it’s e-mails yet again.

But the old dude in the role of the villain is simply not believable as was the evil shrew from Season One, who put a master class perfomance.

So the “ghost of Chavez controling Dominion Voting Systems” is simply an early teaser for Season Three or a spin off show called Georgia Senate races.

You’ve got a massive fan base of a popular show, you have to keep them engaged, you cannot come out and admit that well, there’s gonna be a hiatus before pitching a Season Three.

A whole evening of cheap vodka and this is what you are submitting for a script?

I wasn’t alluding to a conspiracy, it was a question. I find it astounding biden could have received that many more votes than Obama. I don’t believe “orange man bad” could account for the numbers. So whether it’s analytical data from exit polling or some other explanation, im very curious. I’m not ruling out cheating either. I just don’t get it and id like more information that frankly isn’t available 2 weeks after the election.

I got a huge, cynical kick out of the Obama fans advocating “foreign interference” when he made the move and justifying it with “Bush did it first”.

I do agree it seems to be getting worse. My dad was very much anti-Bill Clinton during his terms (mostly second…) but he could still tell you domestic and foreign policy choices he agreed with and generally thought Bill was intelligent. That sort of cross-party civilized thought seems to be completely verboten now.

I was politically aware during Clinton’s first term in a vague way, and during his second a bit more. But I did see to notice the floor start to drop out of that kind of discourse in 2000, which was due to the giant mess that was the election. But to me it really started gaining momentum during the fallout of the 2nd Iraq war, after it had died in popularity. And I don’t think it ever came back. 2008 was more acrimonious than any year prior, and it just kept getting worse til now.

At least that was my experience.

It absolutely blows my mind that people throw all thought out the window in favor of their political tribe. That should never be the case.

Agree. And I also think the GOP needs a prinicpled voice like Romney, although his time is past.

I don’t drink vodka. I’m sorry for this, but that’s how the summarized plot reads like once you remove all the slick production, teaser Tweets and quality camerawork.

Karl Rove was brought in too late.

Fucking GOLD. Killed me.

Where is pushharder’s gold bars when you need them?

Yep, Romney has spoken out against Trump so he’s no persona non grata on the national stage. I didn’t know at the time just how good we had it when the Republican candidates were McCain and then Romney. Who knew at the time it’d go downhill so fast.

Speaking of Romney, here’s one of his latest Tweets:

You should be proud of your hero that that is indeed the case. To paraphrase an ancient Roman: the laughter at liberal tears turned to your own tears.

I think it’s a good sign. It shows that in the end, Americans want a president who tries to unify rather than divide. Where Trump showed his lack of awareness is in not understanding he had a job from which he could be fired.

His voice is great…for Megadeth. Any other voice wouldn’t work half as well with that typically abrasive 'Deth sound. IMO.

Yeah it’s bizarre that people don’t get how loathsome people find Trump. When was the last time a group like the Lincoln Project organized to oppose someone from their own party? Oh yeah, that’d be never, or at least not anytime in recent history.

The vote for conservatives like me wasn’t an endorsement of Biden, it was to relegate Trump to a single term, and I’ve never been more motivated to vote in my life. If someone like me was THAT motivated to get this guy out of office, how is it a surprise that actual Democrats weren’t way more motivated. And, living in a deep red state my vote didn’t even matter much but I still stood in line for hours to cast it.

What did Trump think would happen when he made an enemy out of at least half the country?

I think you’re right. That’s around the time that Michael Moore documentary came out, Fahrenheit whatever.

Similarly, i live in a deep blue state so my vote didnt really matter, but i just wanted to make sure my vote at least showed up in the popular vote. My inlaws who are longtime GOP in AZ voted Biden because they were disgusted with trump and his rapid supporters and their narrative of making an enemy out of blue states.

I think a lot of people put country over a few issues in this election, with an eye on reverting to old voting patterns in 2024.

Not if the gop continues to be puppets of trump. After he is escorted out of the White House he will still control their party unless they do something about it. It is sad to see what they let happen to their party and if they don’t change they may not win the whitehouse for many years to come.

I can ask the same thing about Obama.

I can say the same for Obama.

Personally, i think we have an electorate composed of mostly emotional based voters. Apathetic voters aren’t moved by nuance, but fear, greed, and rage will get them off the couch.

Horseshit.

Unity doesn’t matter. The most horrific things in history were done with unity. What’s more important is the message people are unifying behind. Good or evil?

No, you can’t. He won a second term.

Im aware. Poorly chosen wording. My comment is in reference to making an enemy of half the population.

I can’t agree with you more!!!

For people who genuinely believe this, I guess Trump did win.

No he lost, math doesn’t lie but he won control of the gop in 2016 and I dont see him giving that up or enough people in that party having the guts to stand up to his mean tweets or the backlash they fear from his 74mil voters.
