How long did the USA have to stay in Europe, post 1944, to keep Europeans from butchering each other yet again?

Wreckless, seriously, you do realize that you are a product of your educational system? You have been taught by individuals who believe that war is to be avoided at any cost. How cowardly and pathetic!

I don’t really blame you, you were fucked up by your lib teachers. You have to learn to think for yourself, man.

Peace.

Oh come on the Belgians almost fought for 24 hrs. before surrendering to the Nazi’s.

If I am to represent “the Belgians”, then are you to represent “the Americans” that tortured people in Abu Ghraib and killed people in My Lai.

Why did you do that Hedo? Why did you torture people in Abu Ghraib and why did you kill people in My Lai?

Why did you murder and rape in the Congo?

Not long enough. When the Soviets pulled out of Yugo we had to go in and stop them from killing each other.

Imagine if the US would have pulled out of Europe. If the Soviets didn’t invade I am sure the western Europeans would have butchered each other within a few decades.

I bet if we pulled out today they start building their militaries back up and start killing each other within a few decades.

Zap,

What’s particularly galling are the europeans (who invented the concept and practice of imperialism) acting holier than thou.

Do you think dems like bradley/tme/pox when travelling in europe, spend time “apologizing for America?”

I’ll bet they do and it would be sickening.

JeffR

reckless,

Must be nice to be such a favorite.

You remind me of a chihuahua. Small and insignificant.

The only time you are noticed is when you start yipping.

A swift kick stops the noise.

Wait a tick, that applies to belgium as well.

Unfortunately, unlike the chihuahua, the belgians are capable of causing horrendous human suffering.

Note that the author feels that the belgians instituted the worst colonial regime in history.

Oh, lose some lard and read some books.

Your pal,

JeffR

P.S. I love reckless. He’s cute.

BTW before someone flames me I understand that the Yugos had their own little happy brand of dictatorial communism and wasn’t full of Soviet troops.

I’ll answer your questions when you answer mine.

So far you have 2 questions left unanswered:

  1. When will Bush’s masterplan kick in and when will democracy and freedom spread through the middle-east?
2.Why did you torture people in Abu Ghraib en why did you kill people in My Lai.

I’m simply pointing out that, perhaps, when you’re already loosing your grip on 2 wars, it’s not the smartest move to start a third one.

You on the other hand, are eager to have another go at it. But neither you nor your internet heroes will have to do any actual fighting of course.

No you don’t. You’re trying to piss me off.

Please answer my quetion: when will Bush’s masterplan kick in and when will the middle east turn into 1 haven of democracy and freedom?

That was the plan remember?

If you can’t answer that simple question, if you’re not able to acknowledge that this plan went horribly wrong and that, as a result you should perhaps change your view on the world and how the US should conduct it’s foreign policy.
If you choose to ignore this simple truth because you’re so desperate to make the same mistakes over and over again, then perhaps you just stop posting your drivel on this forum.

How’s this chihuahua doing? Did I draw any blood already?

I would say that American foreign policy makes runts like wreckless angry because it points out that – even though they sometimes fall short – Americans try to make the world a better place. Belgians and other eurotrash feel exposed by this… After all, when was the last time that Belgium did anything significant that didn’t involve concentration camps for Africans?

It’s always easy to snipe from the sidelines. To get the shit kicked out of you, cooperate with the Nazis, be rescued by another country that didn’t have to do so, be guarded by the men from that same country for fifty years to keep out the Soviets, and then left in peace. What do you clowns do with that peace and prosperity? You don’t even wait for the wall to fall before you start sniping like a bunch of little spoiled bitches.

The fact is Belgium’s ONLY historical significance in terms of foreign policy, other than being a battle ground between world powers, was the worst colonial holocaust. A holocaust which haunts the region in question today.

Belgium hasn’t done ANYTHING substantive to help Arabs or anyone else, doesn’t even give lip service to having morality as part of public discourse. Belgian benevolence consists of throwing money at trouble areas that they hear about on TV via some super-governmental mechanism (i.e. UNICEF). Much of this money is taken by the bureaucracy, much of the remainder is taken by the corrupt governments in the target country, and almost nothing gets to the man on the street. Belgians probably know this – but don’t REALLY care. It’s the thought that counts, right?

In other words it’s a total farce.

So while the real problems of the world exist, insignificant people like Wreckless and his marginal government pretend to care, and ultimately do nothing but sit and complain. To make it worse it has been proven time and again that even if Belgium wished to help, they lack the strength, fortitude, resources, ingenuity, and intestinal fortitude to even defend themselves let alone innocent foreign lives.

It is up to more vibrant cultures and nations to tackle the real issues.

A better place for themselves, that is.

America is the biggest threat to world peace. The crushing majority of the world concurs with that statement.

Then again, maybe they’re just jealous of you freedoms…

Lixy, that’s the most spot on statement you have made. They are truly jealous of our freedoms.

And ChuckyT, these guys might get the impression you are saying their governments,(well Belguim), are meaningless. But then again, if they weren’t, they might be doing something in the world instead of complaining about it and the big bad USA.

They said the same thing about us in the late 18th century. The spread of freedom was threatening to “stability”.

Eurotrash are threatened because in a nearly dead society where “morality” and “civilization” are taboo words, a robust foreign policy is threatening. Stability is preferable to anything else. European liberals will allow anyone else to bear any burden, to pay any price, for “stability”. There will be peace in our time!

The societies whose most recent histories are a catalogue of man-made horror – World War I, World War II, communism, colonialism, the African slave trade, “empire”, the White Man’s Burden, the Holocaust, the Inquisition, etc. are now the loudest in condemning the upset of the status quo. Big deal.

The proof is in the pudding. Where are the Moroccans, the Swedes, or the Belgians in: Darfur, the Congo, Kashmir, Lebanon, Iraq, or any of the other areas where human suffering is at its greatest? Nowhere to be found. Nor will you be anywhere nearer than mailing a check to some Sudanese warlord to make yourselves feel relevant.

Sorry if we have to figure this out as we go, luckily for the rest of the world we’re not European. If we were the English you learn how to speak because you love us would be the English you would learn to speak to survive.

lixy,

The “world” said the same thing about is in 1776.

If the “rest of the world” thinks we are wrong, it wouldn’t be the first time.

You will come around. You always do.

Even if you don’t, tough shit.

Please don’t call next time you can’t control your base urges. We’ll be busy being “wrong.”

reckless,

I love when you flail. I think about your stubby, fleshy arms bumbling across the square looking for another pile of cheesecake.

Every thought you have, every action you take, your very existence is due to the United States.

Chew on that one.

Call me twisted, but, it’s nice to have your input on this forum.

When I’m in europe, it seems everyone is pretty pleasant to me. I haven’t had any cross words with a single european.

My guess, is that you’d probably try to sell me a muffin. I’ll bet you wouldn’t trot out your malicious bile in person.

Of course, not. reckless, you know you can’t. In fact, I think for the first time, you’ve tried to bite off more than you can chew. Metaphorically speaking.

Here is my answer:

There are plenty more where than came from.

Ask yourself, what has belgium done to compare?

Or maybe some are Middle Eastern students attending school in the West…Tehran Univ isn’t exactly a magnet for students these days.

gdol and others:

This is what is so worrying about relying on the mullahs to reign in ahmadinejad.

“Pakistan should be careful not to fall into the US trap, since it will be the loser, undoubtedly,” Khatami added in a sermon broadcast live on state radio."

“Iran is a strong country. Certainly being Iran’s friend is much better than being the US and Israel’s friend. There is no benefit in being the US and Israel’s friend,” he said to the habitual chants of “death to America, and death to Israel.”

From: news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070302/wl_mideast_afp/iranunrestpakistanus_070302110345

Daily, one gets the sense that if they aren’t openly supportive of ahmadinejad, it is doubtful they are going to reign him in.

Very, very unfortunate.

Guess we’ll have to claim belgium and use it as a base to launch attacks(murtha style).

[quote]ChuckyT wrote:

You’re confusing government elites opinion with popular opinion. Noone was taking polls in Jordan, China or Japan in the 18th century. Also, there were no planes, TV or web at the time.

No, a bully imperialistic foreign policy in a nuclear era is threatening.

People evolve, you know.

Let’s see, Turkey was the world’s leading recipient of US military aid (after Israel of course) througout the Kurdish genocide in the 80s, the contras in Nicaragua were armed by you, Pinochet was supported by you, the same goes for Suharto, the shah of Iran, Saddam Hussein, the Apartheid regime in South Africa and the Al-Sauds. Ford gave the green light for Indonesian atrocities in East Timor. Lebanon was blasted by American made bombs under your applauses. Iraqis suffered hell because of American militaries and more recently Somalia was bombed by the US army and gave its consent for Ethiopia to invade Moquadishio. Don’t even get me started on the wreckage you caused in South America.

And you have the arrogance to speak about suffering. Amazing!

We learn many languages because we don’t have our heads stuck up our asses.
