Update on AAS cycle

I competed in the ‘70’s, ‘80’s, and ‘90’s. Insulin sensitivity wasn’t yet known how to deal with or know that it was considered a problem. I did eat with insulin management in mind.

Oh wow so your like a veteran. Do you still roid and train?

When I quit competing, I quit using AAS. I am 77 years old and on true TRT (100mg testosterone cypionate every 5 days)

I still lift weights 4 days a week.

Thats crazy man I respect that honestly. I’m only roiding because I’m only doing all this because I’m trying to look good. Ill probably compete in mens physique once I get a good physique

I took a slightly different approach. I only took AAS so that I could compete at the highest level I could achieve.

But you should understand that when I started lifting weights it was socially an esoteric endeavor. Coaches said, “Lifting weights makes you muscle bound.” There was absolutely no social pressure to have a great physique. I had a very good physique before I began taking AAS.

BTW, when I attended NC State University (1966 - 1970) only two football players lifted weights.

Yeah I could imagine lifting wasn’t that popular back in the day. But at my UNI like 90% of guys go to the gym and a good chunk take gear.

So in those 2 pictures above you posted, that is you while ON AAS & insulin? My intent is not to be mean, but to be honest, and honestly if you had posted those pictures and not mentioned AAS, I would still tell you that you need to continue to build your base and get more development on ALL of your muscle groups; I would NEVER have thought “man, that guy is definitely on gear” because you have such little muscular development.

Now, your arms do have some decent size/shape on them, but your chest is flat/not thick, shoulders are not well-rounded/capped, your back lacks width/thickness. And I noticed your pictures were of you wearing pants, so I imagine it’s safe to assume that your legs are NOT thick and well-developed either, as if they were you would definitely want to show them off in your pictures.

Again, not bashing you, we all had to start from somewhere. I was skinny/lanky like you and had almost zero muscles starting out. I ran long distance in middle school and my first two years of high school, then I hit the weights and started to grow. But that was all I did, I worked out all the time…HARD and heavy, and I ate and ate. I did this through high school and through all 4 years of college, with the added benefit of living in the dorms and having all you can eat meal plans. I lifted hard, heavy, and CONSISTENTLY for 8-9 years BEFORE i ever touched AAS.
Did I know about them, read all I could about them, fantasize about taking them and looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger? Hell fucking yeah I did, BUT I also listened to my gym buddies who were older/wiser than me and took their advice to not jump on too soon or before I had developed an impressive muscular base. I think that’s one of the biggest problems with young guys these days, with that social media, tik tok, instagram, etc. you see “all these guys” with a little bit of baby muscle development and ripped, openly talking about steroids so casually, and how they instantly went from tiny to big, that they think it’s safe or not a big deal. And you almost NEVER see them posting about the negative side effects, acne, premature baldness, mood swings, changes in sex drive/function of your junk, etc.

I know when you’re young you want that instant gratification…but there’s a reason why you always hear that sometimes you have to just work hard and pay your dues. It is quite obvious to me in your pictures that you have not been lifting very long, your muscles still appear very soft, there is not much if any thickness to your muscles, and based on that appearance I don’t believe you have worked your way up to lifting any sort of really heavy weights. Those weights build that thickness into muscles, you have to lift heavy to get growth. NOT take AAS or Jesus Christ insulin. You are playing with fire there, no matter how safe you think you’re being. And it’s a big risk, destroying your pancreas or developing insulin resistance. Again, you’re so young your endocrine system is giving you plenty of hormones to put on muscle, you just have to lift, heavy, hard, and often.

And you need to focus on the big, compound lifts to put on that thick muscle and build whole body strength: Incline barbell bench press. Squats, Deadlifts, barbell rows, wide grip pulldowns, hack squats on the machine, leg press (on these you have to go both heavy AND high rep. Trust me, the high rep portion is what really gets your legs to blow up. But you DON’T lower the weight you use for 8-10 reps. You do sets of 20 reps, and you rest/pause during each set until you get to 20 reps. So you start out and get 9 until it starts agonizing burning, lock your legs out (don’t rack it) and wait till the fire subsides, then knock our 5 or 6 more, etc. etc. until you get to 20. This is a trick I learned from the pro BB’er who trained me.

Just taking a bunch of AAS or insulin isn’t going to make you look like Arnold dude, you have to put in the work and lift heavy.
Like I’ve already said, the fact that when I look at your pictures I do NOT see someone who is taking AAS, and that is unfortunate but it’s because you did not develop any sort of solid muscular base, you just took AAS.

OP said he might consider Men’s Physique, so I inferred that he wasn’t focused on his lower body development.

IMO, Men’s Physique should not exist. I always felt that it was started to encourage long legged men to enter contests (more money). From my experience the longer a person’s legs, typically, the longer it takes for the person to add enough thigh size to achieve balance symmetry between upper and lower body.

OP is 5’6". He should have little trouble adding enough lower body mass to look symmetrical. So, I was disappointed that his goal was Men’s Physique. But effective leg training is real work. You dread it until you love it.

Im not reading all that also im 7 months into training + 6 weeks on cycle. And no u cant achieve my physique naturally in that short period of time.

Buddy I still train my legs also I’m 175 now

IMO, if you post a pic of your physique it is most honest to show your entire physique (unless you are showing one or two specific body parts.)
That is how I post my physique pics (of the past.)

I mean this is the full physique now

And, IMO, all your future physique pics should be of your entire physique

I will

Sigh I just don’t get it, achieving how you look is perfectly doable without AAS. Sure it might take a bit longer, but you don’t risk jacking your entire body up doing so. Then, when you DO take AAS, it will make your body look really amazing.
I look at your pics and if I saw you in the gym/locker room of wherever you’re at, I would NEVER believe you were taking AAS because I would say that that physique doesn’t looked jacked, like someone on AAS, but rather like a person who has just started to work out in the gym.
What I’m trying to say is, you went from a skinny kid with no muscles, took AAS, and now are a little bit bigger with some muscles. When you could have lifted a few years and gotten to be a thick kid with some good muscles, then taken AAS, and BOOM, then you look like a friggin alien from another planet with crazy muscles.

You didn’t need AAS to get the look you are currently displaying. I’d even be a bit skeptical that your raws (you say you make your own stuff, I did that too but sent my raw hormone powders/liquids[EQ] to a lab for purity testing) actually contain what they claim to contain…or they might only contain a fraction of the concentration they claim.
The, I don’t know, 250mg/mL test you made might only really have only 100mg of Test Enanthate. And there is no way your Trenbolone is legit, because someone who is taking Trenbolone…their physique/muscles look crazy hard, striated, and thick. I’m not seeing that in your pictures.

I’m just being honest kid. You may be mad I wrote this, but one day you’ll be older and wiser and look back at this and go “WTF was I thinking??” Probably be when you are trying to have kids, or when your hair starts falling out at 28, something like that.

I only ever took AAS because, like @RT_Nomad , I competed in bodybuilding competitions but before I ever took AAS and competed, I managed to, at 5’11, get well over 230 lbs NATURAL. I don’t think I would have ever taken them had I not competed, the risks/sides were not worth it as I had already gotten to be quite big and muscular without them.
Who are you trying to get big and muscular for? Please enlighten us…we’re curious

doing this next leg day

As in a little bit longer you mean 5 years? Yeah no. Also you clearly lack a ton of knowledge about gear. “It wouldn’t think your on gear just a guy who started to workout” Brody I’m the biggest and leanest guy in my gym. “Your probably taking 100mg of test instead of 250mg” I got mine tested from janoshik it’s 257mg a ml. “Usually someone who takes tren has a dry grainy physique and is really jacked” Brody I’ve been on for 2 weeks and I’m only 50mg to retain muscle on a mini cut because tren isn’t even a mass builder it’s anti catabolizer. Dude holy shit:joy:. Dosage matters, muscle maturity matters, bodyfat percentage matter. Next time before saying something that made me laugh for 20 minutes instead of relying on your years of experience talk to any pharmacology major and take there advice.

This isn’t natty in just 7 months let’s be real.

Most knowledgeable Folks stayed away? lol you can speak for yourself cuz you just degraded a lot of people . And just like meastlake said he’s small . And lacks a lot . Doesn’t even look like he takes . So before saying negative crap about others keep it about yourself and your opinion .

Don’t ask anyone on here what your next compound should be since clearly you know it all. And I don’t mind the debate . Your physique needs a lot and I can upload mine just to prove a point but you need more time to develop. And taking gear without fulfilling your natty potential ? Wait you know it all. Add your own compound !
