Update: Mood Issues when on Injection

You will not always require the same dosage, you lost the regulatory effects when you shut down your HPTA by going on TRT, otherwise your body would adjust testosterone levels as needed, but now cannot because you are in control of how much testosterone is in your body.

Within a 4 month period 20mg EOD got my TT 496, FT 20, then months later the same dosage got TT 407 and FT 14.9. You’re not going to be on the same dosage for life, it will always need changes every now and again.

Your estrogen is so high in relation to testosterone that I think daily is more appropriate, I think you will still struggle unless you decrease your dosage. You need to decrease your dosage 10-15% when moving to more frequent injections.

Sometimes you just need to try different protocols to see what works best.

I would start with weekly shots and assess. Only then would I adjust to more frequent.

A couple of questions for you. How long were you on 100mg a week before the blood test, and when was it in relation to your weekly injection. The same questions for 60mg. The posted E2 number is not high, factoring the reference ranges. That is a high reference range, most are 39 for the upper limit, so saying that you have high E2 is not really correct.

I was 100mg for 6 weeks and did the test midway 3.5 days in. I did the same with 60 mg after 5 weeks this was per my doctors instructions. My e2 before this was in the upper 60s on 100 mg but as you see my t levels were low. Now I have good t levels with a better e2. I guess it just seemed weird to me how suddenly things are different. Could the weight loss and diet and lifting again make that much of a difference?

Less fat can definitely make a difference.

Your free t is that high for multiple months trt isn’t the issue. You need to stay there if you had natural low t and look for other eulogized for whatever issues you are having. You don’t stop t because it’s not helping. It only make it worse.

“My cars running bad. I noticed the oil hadn’t been changed. The oil change didn’t fix my problem. I’m not going to do any more oil changes.”

You need to check b12 and thyroid and more.

There is more to this story than trt from the sounds of it.

Maybe T is working, it’s just something else is causing symtoms that override anything T does for you.

If you changed the time of labs after your shot it can. Blood serum e2 is not representing the full story. This is why we don’t touch e2. E2 is centrally crested in bones Brain muscles and more.

Blood should be drawn at trough, not peak or mid week. You are working from false numbers. The fat loss will definitely drop the E2, I’m surprised it didn’t drop more. You are probably underdosed right now, and were low dosed before. You likely have something else going on, as @enackers points out, and thyroid would be a logical thing to investigate. You might benefit from twice a week, or even daily. It may make zero difference for you. You have something else causing problems.

I am going to try 2x a week then maybe eod. It has been about a year since I have had b12 thyroid and full labs. Even though in the past it was never an issue but I have often thought maybe something else is going on. Things have been very different since I tried the clomid for 6 months. I can say that o have never gained so much muscle and strength as fast and consistent as I have been the last 4 months once I stopped clomid and got back on injections. I appreciate all the advice @hardarery @enackers and @systemlord

Your doctor is complicating this entire process, if he can’t do things the right way, may you should seek a competent doctor. When you change dosages it take 6 weeks, not 3.5 or 5 weeks to reach a stable state, so by doing labs prematurely you are in fact not seeing the real picture.

All of your labs are pretty much useless because your levels were still in flux. I don’t think this doctor of yours is going to be able to figure out what is the issue because he lacks basic knowledge.

Add to it he put you back on the protocol that previously didn’t show good results and expecting different outcome.

If you were testing the day after your shot that’s going to be extremely high. By the time you hit day before next shot it’s probably super low.

What you need is a trt doc not some Shmck who doesn’t get it.

You are better off calling a clinic if you don’t want to travel to see an actual doctor who specializes in hormones.

If it’s true what I said above, then I would take 150mg a week and stop the low dose. Do daily and give it time. At the same time check thyroid with free t3 and reverse t3.

Don’t worry about estrogen it is something you want.

Your welcome just follow what me and @hardartery said

And it was 40 free t? Wha tyts by our SHBG. That’s still high for being half a week out. Must be super low SHBG. Are you on very low carb no sugar type of diet?

3.5 days after injection. I am not on a low carb diet but I changed back to a healthy lifestyle 4 months ago and did reduce my carbs. My shbg was 22 which is not low based on the scale. I see a new doc in January so I’m just trying to get to that point. If that doesnt go well I will try one of the telemed try clinics like defy.

If the new doc is an endo or urologist you are wasting your time. Unless someone here is guiding you.

If you want to get help now spend the money and go hire the professionals. Otherwise this will likely continue and you will spend another 6 months or more living hell. These sick cars doctors simply do not have the training.

Haven’t you been on trt a long time? I spent 4 months working with a crappy clinic and immediately hired a trt doc. I flew my self out to meet him and have been great ever since. I didn’t want to hope for the best anymore, and wanted to get fixed up and have confidence in my provider.

I found him watching jay Campbell’s doctors round table . I suggest you do the same .
