I may have to reduce training frequency per upper/lower.
I’m so sore from 4 sets I can’t imagine being ready to train again tomorrow.
Maybe it’ll fade by then.
Benching on a sandbag is a real thing?
I really do it, but it’s not a desired condition. I simply don’t have a bench and I don’t want to do floor presses for another 3 months.

This was a slog, but I felt physically fine and recovered enough to train.

Was able to knock out 4 squats on one breath all four sets.
Encouraging.
Not sore at all today.
Changed movements around to pair lighter upper movement with heavier lower movements and vice versa. I think that will allow me to concentrate in a session better and not dread it as much.
Last session put Z-Press(lighter) with SSB Squat(heavier).
Saturday will be Viking Press(heavier) and reverse lunges(lighter)

On the Landmine Viking Press. Are you just putting the bar ina corner like the poorboy Tbar rows or do you have attachments?
I’ve got a landmine pole I stick in a pile of weights and a Viking Press attachment that goes on the end of the bar.

Finally took the time and re-oiled the bar sleeves. Still need to clean the main bar and collars. Looks kinda crappy and is getting some rust.
McGyvered something that let me do shoulder laterals from D-handles, 15lb bumpers, chain and carabiners.

Not doing the extra 2 sets, just kicked up the weight 5lbs from last time. That’s how I’m running the rest of this microcycle…
Lesson learned: If I’m going to do work out to 5 sets across, I’ll need to lower the weight a bit more than I had them at and don’t let my distrust of base-broadening affect that.
