relax… it’s still first period
You may be right. Cleary ties it shorthanded at the beginning of the 3rd.

I think it’s over. The Wings aren’t even on the ice and Hasek just had an assist on San Jose’s 2nd goal less than 5 into the 1st. Oh well.
tied up 2-2 now Detriot has fought back should be a fun 16 minutes(ore more) of hockey
GO SAN JOSE
I’m not gonna survive this. Wings go ahead with 1:24 left.

Sure was, the Wings looked SLOPPY in the 1st period, it could have easily been 3-0
That last period was some damn good hockey by both teams. The Wings got their shot to drop.
Should be a fun serious now
Geez. Tight checking defensive showdown if ever there was one, but somehow the Red n White bites, kicks and scratches their way into tying the series. I should know better by now. We went down 2 games to none against Vancouver in 02 and wound up winning the next 4. Not even I believed they were going to regain consciousness after that comatose 1st period.

SJ lost, oh well, Now its on to the Bay Area for 2 more. SJ must of watched the Ducks last night. Same story.
Detroit looked like the more desperate team, which they were, the latter half of the game while the sharks were making a lot of sloppy little mistake even when not under too much pressure.
The sharks are still in control of the series though going back to SJ tied, where Detroit was pretty bad this season. So far this is following the same pattern as the Nashville series, with SJ taking game one, their opponent two, and then…
Detroit will really need some magic in SJ.

Yeah, The Canucks surprised me. No blowout obviously, but they controlled the play for a good deal more of it than Anaheim did.

How the hell do we not have anyone pulling for Jersey’s own Devils?
I know Im probabaly the odd man out here, granted there are a few Rangers fans who would gladly jump on me for it…
Ive been a Devils fan since '01, just because thats when I officially started to attend games. I saw them struggle this year, but I wouldnt discredit them.

I just have no particular affection for the Devils, don’t hate em either. I’ve always kinda liked Ottawa for the same type of non reasons that I don’t really like NJ. Don’t know exactly why. I do hope the Sens win this series as long as it goes deep, but won’t be heartbroken either way.
Game 2 comin up at 8.

Man you really don’t like the Red Wings huh? That’s cool. We are indeed going to need some magic going out west, but there is a world of difference coming off a win to split the series and going in 0-2. At least I hope there is, there sure should be.

Come playoff time, it’s a sign of respect. There’s a long history with Detroit in particular though. My first playoff game was game four I believe in that 93-94 series when the Sharks upset the Wings in the first round after one of the biggest between season point turnarounds in history. The next year the wings got revenge in the second round… Now days the only team I actually hate in the west putting aside playoff matchups is probably Anaheim.
Anyway, I really think things have been coming together for this to be the year.

Are you meaning to imply by this that you are either a player or more likely former player by chance?
Oh man, Heatley ties it with 26 left in regulation!! Wadda frickin game, especially the third.
Langenbrunner brings down the house and ties the series with an open ice scooooooooooooooorrrrrrrrreeeeeeeee!!!

Langenbrunner did that to us once back in 98 only from center ice. Actually Osgood went to giude it into the corner and deflected it in his own net… in double OT in the playoffs. He did come back and shut em out the next game and we eventually took the series and the cup.
NJ would have been in real trouble headed on the road having lost both home games.

I was there. Insanity. Great seats too. No shock that the real star was Marty. They looked good first period but I wasnt impressed with the rest of regulation. When Ottowa tied it I was sure we were going to lose in OT if something didnt change. My confidence came back in the first OT, and then…
I think the Rangers just got robbed on that kick in call.
