Unnecessary Quoting!

You are obviously mistaken.

Someone writes a fairly long post, lets say, 40 lines. The first person to reply quotes the entire original post and then reply’s with 2 lines.

I can understand why people might do this when a post is on its 2nd or 30th page, but certainly not on the first reply.

Good points.

Indeed.

Say… What’s that smell? It’s a bit anal, but I can’t quite put my finger on it…

I think this is a bigger issue than the quoting thing.

Well we hit the 2nd page so I feel this is quite possibly be the fabled gray area. Does this constitute pushing the envelope of quote posting, I’m not sure? If anybody else has some insight as to where the gray area begins and ends feel free to chime in.

I prefer to put my stuff first when violating said rule. Therapist says it’s just a stage.

Acutally, when I saw this I thought it was somebody hammering me for my “air quotes” imposed on my text. I’ve got a terrible habit of beating that to death. Too much Chris Farley, I’m guessing.

In all seriousness, I’m not to familiar with computers and/or the site. How do you go about selecting limited text from a previous post to use it.

Signed,
Hoss the Wonder Idiot

As one of the supposed “Lords of Gray” I feel indeed that this is a gray area. Trying to claim it is black and white will only confuse the issue further and lead to hostility.

It is imperative that we work to relieve as much hostility as possible as there is far too much in the political forums already! Is there a solution?

just then a bear walks in, slaps his mitts on the a bar and barks " HEY BARTENDER…

the bartender leans in all quizzical and says:

I?m saving my piss in a jar
This depression has gone too far
I?m lying here in bed
Am I alive or am I dead

I?m questioning my sanity

The paint chips are kicking in
Desperation bubbles my skin
There?s stuff crawling on the floor
Crackers with black books knocking at my door

The tv?s talking to me
I?m questioning my sanity

Everybody have a breakdown!

I haven?t changed my clothes in weeks
