Nah man nothing derailed at all! If anything it was a kick I needed to stop avoiding a lift I’m not great at. My push press and jerk always go up whenever my squat does anyway, and having more stable shoulders certainly can’t hurt. Bw relative lifts ie. Bw overheard, 2xbench and 3x squat and dead have all been long term goals of mine!

I too shared those goals a few years back, put bodyweight overhead (can still do that one), was very close to 3x dead pulling 194kg @68kg, not even close on bench or squat as they both suck for me. I chased those goals in the hopes of achieving the physique I wanted, it didn’t really work and it started messing with my performance in my sport so I stopped.

Yeah that’ll happen.
I’ll be due to hit a 240 dead soonish I think based on how I’ve been pulling recently. Only need another 12.5kg for that, squats is a little further away but my last top single was 210, curious if Ssb will pay off, legs definitely feel stronger and they were always my weak point in terms of breakdown.
To get my bench from 130 to 160kg will probably take a miracle haha

Good day today, still a bit hungover from all the beers on Saturday but never the less, got the squats done

Pump fluff today
High rep upper chest and rear delt stuff.
Incline cable flys, band face pulls, Incline db fly, rear delt db fly, Incline db constant tension press, db seated cleans and then pushups to failure followed immediately by slingshot pushups to failure. It is a good day to die.

363 for 13 is still a PR but I was cross because I only stopped because I felt like I was gonna be sick, not because I was out of gas.
I’ve made a deal with myself that if I can deadstop anything for 10 reps then I can start doing tng and bang out some more. Weight wise I felt like I had another ten but two pizzas and some donuts yesterday had me feeling greasy and shitty today haha

Those looked clean man. Also +1 on the deadlift stance. That’s my power stance at the moment. What are your current feelzzz on dem deadlift stances on both rep PRs and 1RM?

It definitely makes it a lot easier off the floor, I was a little narrower than usual today, which I only noticed after doing my down sets, might be why I was a little more bent over today which also might have added to feeling sick via pushing the belt right into my stomach.
I certainly don’t have the mobility to go fully widen on the sumo stance like some lifters, so this definitely gives me the best leverages

I always find I can rep out more deads, specifically tng, conventional, but I’ve lifted more doing sumo thing way. Especially off blocks it’s like night and day between sumo and conventional.
If I fail in this narrow sumo it’s around the knee, like I just can’t clear it to lock it out.
