UK Schools Drop Holocaust

I don’t get it. You create a thread from a fabrication? To what end? Just to piss people you don’t like or agree with? lixy, that is small of you.

You’re right. I shouldn’t be enjoying Zap’s replies that confirm the story. I shouldn’t delight in pointing out how some media spewing hate became so common that it’s hard to tell facts from propaganda. I apologize for having succumbed to those low pleasures. It wasn’t the best way to get to the point, but I hope it gets people to be a little more critical and do some homework before swallowing anything thrown at them.
The problem is, people figured you’d at least post an article sincerely. Maybe the articles you choose would have facts wrong, sure. But, not that you’d pass off a fake story on purpose. The only point you’ve proven is that your intentions can’t be trusted. So, now I have to check every single fact and figure, every single article, to see if you aren’t just trying to be cutesy.

This isn’t me being defensive, as you’ll notice I did voice skepticism. But, that’s because YOU posted it, and I don’t trust your intentions. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

In short, you set out to prove a point. Instead what you’ve done is cause people, who would at least give you enough credit to not pass on a fake story, to now doubt you. Good job?

Perhaps Lixy was anticipating the reaction President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was expecting to get when he threw his “Holocaust Didn’t Happen” party last year.

He could watch us all get upset and then ask: “Why doesn’t anyone care about the pooor Palestinians?” as if they are the only ones in the world fighting for their homeland against oppressors.

Its not just offending Muslims – EVERYBODY is getting the shits of being beat about the head with it. People who weren’t even born at the time are fed up with being made to feel like they participated, over and over and over again.

That’s true.

This is the first thing that made me hate Jews. Can’t stop bitching and complaining about how they are victims and then rub it in everybody’s face.

Pro-semitism breeds anti-semitism.

I say leave it in the textbooks as a reminder and part of history… and move on. We don’t need more museums and talks about it over and over and over and over again.
That people and their history are being used politically makes you hate them?

You either hate 95% of all human beings or you wanted to hate Jews in the first place.

Anti Jewish sentiment was rather common in those days.

And why is that? It wasn’t because of their religion.
Antisemitic sentiments and laws have a millenary history in Europe. It didn’t suddenly rise in the 18th century.

No. Just most Jewish people with certain parts of their history trying to beat it in everyone’s faces.

Unless we live on a Jewish earth I don’t think that 95% of people are Jewish.

But that’s just my estimation. I could be wrong.

Nonsense - the article was presented as deliberately false: an April Fool’s joke. It was not being passed off as factual propaganda - it is a common prank. Most everyone is being “extra-critical” on April Fool’s day because they know the jokes are lurking.

You have proven two things:

 1. You aren’t interested in rational debate

 2. You will traffic is disinformation purposely

On either count, what is left of your currency around here continues to plummet.

Orion meant that most people will use and abuse history for political ends. He’s right.

No other event seem to compare to the extent to which the Holocaust has been drummed up though.

I can’t add much to this discussion (as usual ;D ), but I would like to say that my dad and his company helped liberate one of the concentration camps in WWII. He saw it with his own eyes and told me about it, when I brought it up — he rarely spoke about his experiences unless I bugged him about it.

He pointed out how shocked he and his buddies were; they were mostly young guys who couldn’t even imagine doing that kind of shit to other people. He, being a sergeant, had to keep control of his men, as they wanted to go into the nearest town and kill everybody.

His description of what some inmates had done to some SS guards whom they overpowered: they had hung the nazis upside down and slashed them with broken window glass, blood everywhere, was incredible to me. Also a matter of course, he said, the Army guys simply shot SS men on sight, no surrenders or any of that shit.

He and his men (these are his words) also thought everyone in Germany should be killed.

Like they did in science. Did you know there were a lot of Jews involved in the Manhattan project. Or did I just open a can of worms here?
My mother was a German Jew and worked on the project. But what does her religion have to do with anything? They knew that Hitler’s people were working on nukes and were terrified of that, like most people who were aware of what was going on.

How many Catholics worked on the MP?

Do you have anything from the Mail that claims it was deliberate? The story was carried by a great deal of media. Also, you can notice that Mr.-Clean-and-jerk questions the date of the article.

If it was a deliberate prank as you claim, it’s as close to criminal as it could get. There is already a LOT of hatred towards Muslims in the US. People have actually been agressed for their faith. Plus, the news was relayed by the usual outlets (Fox, JihadWatch…) for a long time after April 1st. I have yet to see them flag the story is false.

Anyway, I highly doubt it was a deliberate prank. I mean, for the Mail, everyday is April 1st. This year’s April fool’s in the Mail was the announcement of the postponement of Andrew and Fergie’s wedding because of a clash with Prince Charles’ calendar. He was going to be butterfly-hunting in the Himalayas. The Daily Mail also told readers that nuclear submarines were patrolling the Thames. The story about the teaching of the Holocaust wasn’t picked up by anyone of the April fool’s watchdogs.

Am I the only one who thinks the Holocaust is not laughing material?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t our friend Zap assert that the story was TRUE? In that aspect, it was well worth the experience. However, in retrospect, I should have sock-puppetted the story. I guess, most of you guys held your horses because you could see the trap.

I didn’t have much to start with. Being Muslim and all…

Schools ‘avoid Holocaust lessons’

Teachers drop the Holocaust to avoid offending Muslims

Schools drop Holocaust lessons to avoid offence

As this story was reported by a variety of British sites, of various political persuasions I assumed it to be accurate.

All of the stories are dated April 2nd, not the 1st so there is no reason to think it is an April Fools joke.

Another example of crappy overseas media.

Schools drop Holocaust lessons

A trolling thread started by lixy.

There appears to be at least one school that has dropped the Holocaust and there may be more.

The Snopes link confirms this. The only hoax is that all schools in Britian are dropping Holocaust lessons and I do not see anyone making that claim.

Lixy, do you even read this stuff before you post it?

I wish I had checked your Snopes link previously!

I was just pointing out that Jews, as a people, over over-represented in professions and activities involving intelectual capacities.

I’ve heard it said, can’t find any sources, so I don’t know if it’s true or not, that certain Jewish families for lack of a better word, are genitically, more intelligent than the average homo sapiens.

Just google for “Jew” and “intelligence” and this is the first link that will pop up: http://www.futurepundit.com/archives/002812.html

Jewish scientists played a big part in the development of quantum mechanics for instance. The nazi’s turned away from this Jewish science.

The nazi’s were nowhere near to building an atomic bomb. They had a nuclear program, but is was small, underfunded and didn’t make much progress. They estimated the bomb wouldn’t be ready before the end of the war, and with the resources they had, they were probably right, so they put it on the back burner.

That’s all in heinsight of course.

Anyway, I didn’t mean to comment on he manhatten project, nor do I think there’s a global Jewish conspiricy.

There is however an unholy alliance between Israel and the US, with large sums of public funds being transferred from the US to support Israel. This money is then returned to the US to buy political support there. But that’s another story.

Unholy? What the? Is there some Satanic Cult master-minding an agreement between America and Israel? That’s the only way anything could be “unholy.”
