Ufc 130

Santiago vs Stann: I knew from the first round that Santiago was fucked. He was sloppy, no defence and no rhythm at all. Fucking choker. He deserved to get his ass whooped by the machine Stann.

Story vs Alves: boring, frustrating and disappointing. All the promo talk was just drivel as usual. And WTF with the fucking walling and stalling, Story? And fuck Alves for not even trying to move away from the fence. Even Big Country knew how to get out of that sticky situation.

Struuve vs Browne: It was like watching two giants fighting. The octagon looked so low with them in there, lol. And I must admit I chuckled a little when the tiny referee jumped on top of Struve to stop the fight. I felt bad for Struve. I like the guy. I think he was better fighter than Browne but when you keep your guard down, shit happens.

Mir vs Nelson: Awesome throw in the first round. Mir dominated well. Nelson defended well at some point until he gassed…

Rampage vs Hamill: Boring main event though the 1st round was okay…
the only thing I liked was Rampage’s walk to the octagon…

This card was a waste of money.

You made a bet or did you watch it on PPV?

Best fight of the whole card was Torres vs Mighty Mouse Johnson (and that was one of the free prelims on SPIKE). I had Torres winning that one on account of the numerous submission attempts, but man that was a hard fight to score. Would love to see a 5 rounder between those two.

Santiago looked gun shy right from the get go and I knew that Stann had that one from very early on.

Alves either had a terrible game plan, or was just not executing his game plan well. Why he didn’t angle out to try to keep his back off the cage is beyond me. Story has got a great chin though.

Struve almost had a D’arce locked up at one point but for whatever reason let it go. That was really the only time in that fight he looked like he might win. Dude does seem to have a knack for getting KO’d in spectacular fashion though.

Nelson just looked out of his league from a physical standpoint. Obviously all of the hard work that Mir has put into his strength and conditioning has paid off for him in this one. Man can Nelson take a shot though. He really needs to get serious about his diet and drop to LHW if he wants to be competitive though IMO.

Rampage basically did to Hamil what I thought he would. Stuffed his takedowns, and lit him up when the distance was right. I just didn’t see anything in Hamil’s game coming into this one that I thought would give Quintin problems and it turns out that I was right. Hamil did look timid in this one though (as opposed to how he looked against Tito), which I don’t think helped his chances any.

I’m glad Michael MacDonald got the victory even though it was quite controversial, you just want to see a kid like that succeed and live up to the hype that is starting to grow behind him.

Torres was robbed, but I knew it was going to happen. Time for people who truly understand the ground game and how an effective bottom game should be scored when the person in top control is essentially doing nothing but defending.

Big props to Stann, he’ll probably get the fast track to a title based on his back story but he’s backing it up with solid performances so no complaints. Give Santiago another shot and then send him back to Japan or the regional circuit where he can be king with Antonio Mckee.

I’m a huge Alves fan so last night was painful. But props to Story for following his game plan and getting into a few exchanges, even though he came out on the losing end of most of him. I’m hoping he gets matched up with Kos for his return fight, we’ll see how his wall n’ stall works then.

Browne impressed, Struve is going to be brain dead by age 25.

Neither Mir or Nelson impressed. Mir is a solid gatekeeper at best in that division and there’s no meaningful matches left for him unless they bring the Strikeforce HW’s in ASAP.

Broken hand aside, Rampage is supposed to be the one to beat Jones? I’m not a fan of Jones by any means necessary and would love to see his fake ass get beat down, but Rampage isn’t the one to do it. As for Hamill, back to headlining Ultimate Fight Nights against the scrubs of the light heavy division.

The best Mir I saw in a long time.
I was SHOCKED to see Nelson going for the clinch and takedown - even right from the start!
Stand, sprawl and trade seemed the logical roadmap here.

Story had a granite chin, this could’ve been a draw easily.

Struve has some serious flaws in his defensive game, he HAS to fix that!
He should go to Japan, fight some cans, eat some horsemeat and return in 2-3 years.

LOL that was a good one

Just rewatched Miguel Torres fight, what a robbery, japanese judges would definitely give him the UD.

Those “takedowns” were mighty easy to stuff. Hamill seemed reluctant to actually shoot. And he should have added more leg kicks to the fight. The ones he shot were landing. Hugely disappointing performance. Rampage winning was no surprise but I wanted to see a better fight.

Hamill was actually pretty deep on his shots, Page is just really really strong.

I was actually surprised with Rampage’s kick on the final seconds of round one, he got some decent power, he should add it to his arsenal more frequently.

True, in fact he has very few glaring weaknesses.

yeah his glaring weakness is attacking women reporters, and completely disrespecting them, hell he 's not much different than mike tyson outside a rape conviction… Dana needs to talk to him…

am i the only one who laughed when both fighters were exausted at the end of the 3rd round and put their hands on their waists and Goldberg said: A mutual respect from both fighters.

I guess story was good for the upset.

Rampage looked pretty good, I always think he needs better partners
and better movement, when he was with Jaunito Iberra he had much better footwork.

And he does indeed have underrated defensive wrestling,
back in time you saw it more he had great wrestling when he fought lindland
but that is a bad fight - cause it could have went either way.

Roy nelson has an Amazing chin.

Mir looked good- or Roy was just more off then usual
maybe a little of both and yes Mir’s work in S&C and his new wrestling partners
have worked well for him

rumor is Nelson broke Mir’s Ribs and jaw.

^Would explain Mir’s ‘gassing’ at the end of the second.

Well, that plus getting clinched over the fences by a 300lbs dude on the cage mustn’t be very nice for your gas tank.
