I am supposed to be heading there for some work this summer. I am curious to see what it’s like.
Sorry, my statement wasnt directed at you personally…it was just a generalization
I understand and I tend to be in agreement with you - if you don’t like it move or run for some sort of office.
when it comes to Jersey…i would choose Japan too, ![]()
100% lol. I have been there too many times for business related things and hated every minute of it.
It is a different and interesting place. One thing that made me chuckle was how there are areas that you cannot go unless you are 100% Japanese / born / natural citizen.
Liberals and SJW’s would have a stroke seeing such overt “racism”.
The concept of racism is not even given thought in most Asian countries.
I am just a country redneck that likes minimal traffic, small towns, and tons of land with nobody near me.
More questions I forgot to list.
What are you doing for the descendants of slaves?
What do you expect us to do?
I think they were more concerned with not getting their heads blown off.
I’m starting to agree with you. Let’s pay the slaves since people should be compensated for their labor. One problem though, they’re dead, as are the people who should have paid them.
This is where I stand.
If you live in the ghetto, and I have lived there, and you are worried about people who are long dead, you have a total lack of awareness of your present situation.
Hey
What rank are you in BJJ?
How often do you train?
Do you still train?
If I recall correctly you were at blue belt 1.5 years ago. I assume you are still at blue… but how many stripes?
Do you train predominantly gi or nogi?
How long did it take you go earn your blue belt and are you confident re your self defence capabilties that you’ve developed through training?
How many injuries have you had that were directly linked to BJJ?
Hows your takedown game? It appears even sport BJJ facilities are waking up and starting to focus a little bit more on takedowns.
Do you cross train any striking?
And finally… do you compete?
My one brother spent months at a time there and loved it. He said its remarkably clean, and everybody there takes immense pride in what they do. It goes much deeper than just the trains running on time.
That I do know. I have worked with Japan as a customer on a couple of programs. They take immense pride in the assets they get and want to know every little detail about their aircraft. It’s quite impressive.
Last program I worked with them on I had to spend 20 minutes through an interpreter convincing them I knew what I was talking about because I wasn’t “gray-haired enough”
You don’t even know the difference between an adverb phrase and an adjective.
In tact… stfu.
Universal healthcare actually is pretty great so long as it’s implemented under a framework that allows for the co-existence of privatised healthcare sectors alongside public (or ‘universal’ if you will) healthcare.
I was a blue belt after six months and that was a long time ago. I never had any serious injuries other than cauliflower ears, if you think that’s serious. Many of the people I have trained with for years, some older than I, a few younger, have had knee surgeries, back issues, hip issues including replacement, some have needed to discontinue training altogether. I think I’ve avoided injuries because I lift weights and one of the benefits, with regard to bjj, is that it can address any potential muscle imbalances that bjj players get. I also trained with several guys who were significantly bigger and you learn right away how to keep yourself safe and rely on technical answers to problems rather than supplement with strength.
Where I train there is an emphasis on self defense. People get hung up on specific techniques but the main benefit of self defense training is building awareness that it’s not bjj class and you can get punched in the face. So you think to yourself while sparring, “if this guy could punch me, is what I’m doing right now the best option?”
Damn
Did you have previous martial arts experience?
Were you training 3x per day?
Avg time to blue is 18-24 months.
Wow, we have an English teacher here.
Does this mean they shouldn’t have been paid? What about their descendants, would they not have a better life to live, other than being trapped in the ghetto? And what about the descendants of the slave owners, would their descendants be living the life they currently are?
You can always show support for reparations.
Funny a lot of expats don’t think so.
