No. Deserve is a silly, childish word. The better question is, did they earn them? And again, it’s a no.
I’m all for individuals having the right to seek damages in court however, the idea of a demographic getting some monetary award is ridiculous. Let’s also remember, although it’s hard to forget what one never knew, that Native Americans not only enslaved each other but were also the last to free their black slaves. How do we balance that checkbook?
Well, this is what happens when you have activist, sjw prosecutors (the ones who are supposed to be on the side of the people) who believe the perpetrators of crime are bigger victims than the actual victims of their criminal acts.
Were your parents PARENTS involved with the slave trade?
And why does someone deserve reparations from people who had nothing to do with the slave trade when they themselves were never slaves… nor were their parents, or their grandparents…
What if I told a group of Germans they should each give me 20$ because my relatives died in the holocaust?
I’d EXPECT a German to say “fuck off you entitled prick” if I said that. (Not an attack at you, just outlining a scenario)
Have you seen physical therapists or orthopedic doctors to test you for Elhers Danlos and Marfans? I also had tests done for rheumatoid arthritis (thankfully was negative for it).
Just getting a diagnosis took me like 7 years of headache.
Its borderline. No way it’s marfans, I’m not tall.
Off to EDS specialist to find out.
Will respond more later. RA would have arguably been the better one to test positive for.
RA can have stable periods. EDS = progressive degeneration and while you can try slow the rate of damage… the passage of time is far less kind on your body
I know a few people with EDS (potentially a couple in my family too). Some of the surgeries most wound up requiring are nothing short of horrific. Notwithstanding the cardiac issues that can eventuate…
I don’t have Marfans (thank god), but I don’t consider my EDS a horror diagnosis like the way you describe it.
Yeah, by age 19/20 both my hip labrums tore from a simple walk lol, and my shoulders essentially dislocated for no reason…
BUT
I’ve mostly turned it all around via physical therapy. Needed two surgeries to get the labrums repaired, of course. I didn’t test positive for any cardiac issues either, thankfully. It takes a lot of physical therapy just to function normally, but if that’s what needed, then so be it.
I look at it like a horror story because… of those I know. Surgeries include spinal fusions, joint repairs or replacement at frighteningly young ages, potentially fatal cardiac issues
I also tore both hip labrums lol. Started having symptoms at the age of 18, but didn’t put two and two together until I was 21 re the hip labrums.
I’ve had them fixed.
As to shoulders. Mine aren’t as bad as yours. First dislocation was atraumatic (reaching up and shoulder slipped out). Recurring dislocations were usually associated with force i.e shoulder slipping out the back at gym doing pullovers, someone yanking on my arm etc.
Interestingly I never had a dislocation from martial arts… even grappling… but when I tried grappling I was very, very strong from years and years of weightlifting and physio. I’d also done martial arts quite a bit as a kiddo and therefore knew how to correctly throw a punch without hurting myself. It always led to pain (SIJ pain, tendonitis everywhere etc). I thought that was normal…
. But apparently not…
But can voluntarily sublax both shoulders posteriorly and anteriorly. Have sulcus sign on both shoulders.
Anyhow. Don’t want to derail thread. Will stop here
Anoher fun fact European Union (not the entire continent) represents slightly above 1/3 of the World GDP. Close second is USA with just bellow 1/3. So no matter what other alliances are there they can not compare to the economic power of the above partnership. If someone claims another thing it means he reads too much Kremlin propaganda.
But many other countries in the world are. U.S. hegemony is slipping. Even our “good friends” Saudi Arabia" are now considering other currencies other than the dollar. The empire is crumbling. Keep your head in the sand if it’s too difficult for you to face up to.
Has this not been studied before? And if this is difficult to figure out, it shouldn’t be used as an excuse to deny reparations.
So if their direct descendants were working for free and building fortunes for their oppressors under the system of slavery, these direct descendants have NO CLAIM to these fortunes that were built largely by their ancestors who were systematically cheated out of their labor value? Where would these people- the descendants of slaves be now, economically speaking, if their ancestors were paid for the work they had done? Living in the ghettos?
It does not matter what other countries do. You have 2/3rds of the world economy trading in dollars and euro. EU is expanding slowly, you can ask Brits how are they doing by leaving the EU. US only needs to partner with Mexico and Canada to do great. The EU in the other hand needs US and China/Asia, but North Africa is developing slowly so the future is bright as long as they get rid of Russia
